Obi-Wan Kenobi's teaser fell for Disney Plus - and we're even more excited

Few things are as exciting as the Obi Wan Kenobi TV show, a Disney Plus project that will appear on the streaming service next year. Thanks to Disney Plus Day, we have our first official look at what the show will be about.

The teaser is only 1 minute and 16 seconds long and features concept images as well as an appearance by director Deborah Chow and Obi Wan himself, aka Ewan McGregor. It is enough to get fans excited about the series.

The video can be seen on Disney Plus, but has not yet been officially uploaded to sites like YouTube. Unofficial uploads that have appeared in the meantime have already been blocked for copyright reasons.

"Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi" was not released for a long time and was initially rumored to be released as a feature film. However, after the commercial failure of "Solo," Disney backtracked on its theatrical release, and it never materialized.

It was not until the 2019 D23 event that it was confirmed that Ewan McGregor would return and Obi Wan would head to Disney Plus.

But while we have yet to see actual footage of the show, concept art reveals a few things about the upcoming series. First, that Darth Vader will appear and that he and Obi Wan will have some sort of rematch. Similarly, it has been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be playing the role of Vader, rather than simply playing Anakin in some sort of flashback.

The art also introduces at least one member of the Inquisition. The Inquisition is a death squad composed of Force Sensitives and Dark Jedi tasked with hunting down the remaining Jedi. In addition to this, several different worlds are included, including a dubious rebel base, confirming that the action is not limited to Tatooine.

My guess? Inquisitor comes to Tatooine and threatens the safety of young Luke Skywalker, causing Obi Wan to flee to keep the Empire away and keep him safe. Obi Wan will be on the run to keep the Empire away and keep Luke safe. Obviously, this would put him under Vader's radar and lead to a final confrontation.

Frankly, I am eager to see more. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for a proper trailer to appear.

According to Disney Plus, Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith (and 9 years before A New Hope). The series will consist of six episodes and will air on Disney Plus in 2022.
