This new tilting exercise bike makes the Peloton look like a Toy

Replacing the peloton is a new indoor bike, Muoverti has unveiled a new indoor trainer dubbed TiltBike at the Rouleur Show in London. The startup company has designed the bike to mimic outdoor riding and, as the name implies, allows the rider to swing the bike from side to side as they get out of the saddle and ride.

According to Muoverti, the tilt bike allows riders to balance, steer, accelerate and brake, and lean into corners just as they would outdoors. The Bowflex Velocore can be switched to leaning mode. But compared to the Wahoo KICKR Bike, WattBike Atom, or Peloton, this is definitely an exciting entry.

While the bike, which won't begin shipping until 2022, is not yet available for testing, the company claims that the feel on the pedals reflects the physical forces of an actual bike, such as gravity and incline. The electromagnetic resistance is controlled using an algorithm that updates 1,000 times per second, which the company claims can simulate in real time factors experienced when cycling outdoors, such as drafts and wind speed.

For serious cyclists, this data also looks exciting. Without the need for additional sensors, TiltBike can give riders real-time feedback on power, speed, cadence, left-right balance, pedal smoothness, torque effectiveness, lateral force, and sitting and standing times.

The bike is also equipped with self-centering handlebars. Muoverti claims that this handlebar and lateral movement of the frame allows the bike to move freely under the rider. In addition to mimicking the actual riding experience, the tilt bike is said to provide riders with a better indoor workout.

Another standout feature of the bike is the controller and mini-joystick, which Muoberti claims can be maneuvered within a virtual space. According to the brand, it can also free-roam interactive games such as Zwidt, Rovy, TrainerRoad, and Bkool. While many indoor bikes and turbo trainers can be combined with programs such as Zwift, this product is one of the first on the market to combine game controls with a laterally moving bike that feels as realistic as possible.

The TiltBike is designed to be extremely adjustable. Riders can adjust everything about the bike, including saddle height, reach, and crank arm length. It will begin shipping in 2022, just long enough to set up a rain machine in your living room and really feel like you're riding outdoors.

We look forward to testing the Tilt Bike to see if it lives up to the hype.
