Samsung Galaxy S21FE may have just been revealed in a new photo leak

The question on the lips of every Samsung fan for the past few months is undoubtedly "Where is the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE?" That would be the question. There have been plenty of rumors suggesting that this phone is on the way, but nothing concrete from Samsung itself.

We now have another potential look at it, thanks to leaker Roland Quandt - who has shared an image that appears to show off the S21 FE's back cover. No big surprise, but it gives us an idea of what this phone could look like - and what colors might be available.

The cover comes in black, white, purple, and olive green, which Android Police notes are the same colors as the newly released Galaxy Buds 2. Whether this means that Samsung originally planned to tie the two products together is not certain, but it seems unlikely to be a coincidence.

If these covers are real, the S21 FE's design appears to be quite similar to Samsung's Galaxy S21, with the same triple-lens camera array and vertical camera bump; this makes perfect sense, given that the S21 FE is a cheaper version of the S21.

The only major difference is that the camera bump is the same color as the rest of the phone's cover. This suggests that it will be made of the exact same material as the back of the phone, but what that material will be is unknown at this stage.

The Galaxy S21's back cover is made of polycarbonate, which is just a fancy way of saying plastic. Presumably, given the low-cost nature of the S21 FE, it will be similar. However, the plastic back of the Galaxy S20 FE is not as luxurious as the back of the S21, and it would not be surprising if the same situation is repeated with the S21 FE.

Interestingly, even though Samsung has not said anything about the S21 FE launch, Quandt noticed that some retailers are already selling parts for the S21 FE. In fact, the back cover pictured in his tweet is already for sale on at least one UK website for the price of £11.80 ($16.08).

All of this suggests that the S21 FE is still on Samsung's roadmap. More recently it has been suggested that it has simply been postponed, although there were rumors that the handset had been canceled. In fact, the postponement could mean a launch at CES in January.

Hopefully, we will have some concrete details about it soon, but until then keep an eye on our Samsung Galaxy S21 FE hub for all the latest news.
