Lenovo can challenge the new MacBook Pro 16-inch with a strange dual-screen laptop

While the new MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021 eliminates the Touch Bar (Apple still refuses to make a touchscreen laptop), Lenovo is about to offer a secondary touch display with pen input, right next to the keyboard.

If this is the case, it is likely to be a very good idea.

If this rumored ThinkBook Plus model turns out to be real, this innovative (and strange) design will give creative professionals a new tool to express themselves.

Noted leaker Evan Blass posted an image of what appears to be this design on Twitter. The 17-inch laptop is similar in design to Lenovo's ThinkBook Plus Gen 2, but with a secondary screen positioned to the right of the keyboard. The image also shows a stylus placed above the keyboard.

This suggests that users can write or draw on the color screen. The proposed ThinkBook Plus secondary screen arrangement differs from the aforementioned ThinkBook Plus Gen 2, which has a secondary e-ink screen on the lid.

As our sister site Laptop Mag points out, Asus' ProArt Studiobook is comparable to the rumored ThinkBook Plus; the ProArt Studiobook features a 16-inch, 4K OLED HDR display with an Nvidia RX 3070 GPU and an AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series GPU. The ThinkBook Plus may have similar features, as it should be a high-performance machine that can handle the artist's demanding projects.

Aside from the image, no additional information is available; with CES 2022 just around the corner, it is possible that this laptop will be seen at the show. Since this image is not official, we do not know if this ThinkBook Plus is the real deal. If it is, the secondary screen placement, while odd, could help creators be more productive.
