The result is as follows - these are the World coffee champions of 2021

The World Coffee Championships came to a close this week, and winners were crowned in three categories on October 29. Diego Campos of Colombia became World Barista Champion, Matt Winton of Switzerland won the World Brewers Cup Championship title, and Kyung Ha Chu of Australia won the World Cup Tasters Championship.

Each of these teams won the World Brewers Cup Championship title.

Judging for each category took place over seven days at the HostMilano trade fair in Milan, with more than 100 competitors vying for the top spots. In the main event, baristas were judged on their technical skills and creativity, while other categories also tested tasting and filter extraction.

The World Coffee Championship is usually co-hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association and World Coffee Events. However, last year's competition was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Competition resumed in earnest this year, with winners in three of the Championship's seven categories. This year's winners are as follows.

Competitors in the World Barista Championship must make four espressos, a milk drink, and an original signature drink in a 15-minute routine and are judged on everything from taste to cleanliness, technical skill to creativity. This year, Diego Campos won the competition, with Andrea Allen of the United States in second place and Hugh Kelly of Australia in third.

To compete in the World Brewer's Cup, a brewer must demonstrate filter coffee skills by hand-drip brewing three cups of coffee from the beans provided. Matt Winton of Switzerland took first place and took over the mantle from the 2019 winner, Jia Ning Du of China.

Competitors must demonstrate accuracy and speed in identifying unique flavor profiles from a variety of specialty coffees at the World Cup Tasters Championship. Participants are provided with three cups, two of which are filled with the same coffee and the third with a different type of coffee. They must then find another coffee as quickly as possible throughout the eight rounds. This year, Australia's Chu Kyung-ha won the competition, with Germany's Denes Rajmond and Korea's Joo Sang-min as runners-up.
