Star Wars: Ahsoka Casting News and Everything We Know So Far

Ahsoka Tano will have a show on Disney Plus. The new series, a spin-off of The Mandalorian, was announced at Disney's Investor Day 2020 event and will feature Rosario Dawson reprising her role as former Jedi Padawan. And another former young Jedi will appear in the series, as revealed in recent major casting news. Details are below

The series will likely follow her activities after she crosses paths with Mando and Baby Yoda. And now that she has revealed that this little cutie's real name is Grog, we're wondering what other surprises she has in store for us: ...... Yes, she has no sleeves. For those who don't know, Ahsoka is a popular character from the animated series "The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars: Rebels."

Ahsoka made her live-action debut in "The Mandalorian" Season 2, when Mando and Glorg went looking for her on the forest planet Corvus. She had a standoff with Imperial Judge Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Innosanto), ruler of the city of Kalodan.

At the end of the episode, Ahsoka defeated Morgan Elsbeth and obtained the information she wanted: the location of Grand Admiral Sloane (another character in the Clone Wars).

Here's everything we know about the Star Wars: Ahsoka series.

Disney did not announce a release date for Star Wars: Ahsoka when it revealed the spinoff to investors, but we do have a clue as to when it will be released. The leaked casting and storyline details state that filming is scheduled to begin this year, making 2022 seem likely.

Additionally, "The Book of Boba Fett" will premiere on Christmas Day 2021, followed by "The Mandalorian" Season 3. So "Star Wars: Ahsoka" will probably follow and be released in March or April 2022.

Of course, the cast of "Star Wars: Ahsoka" will be led by Rosario Dawson, the live-action adaptation of this character.

The only other cast member revealed is Hayden Christensen, who will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader from the prequel trilogy; The Hollywood Reporter broke the news,

"The Mandalorian" characters may appear in the spinoff. I would like to see Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) reunited with Ahsoka. The former Jedi may have turned down Grog's training, but she is the only one who can communicate with Grog through the Force. Perhaps they might share another wordless vision.

Scoop-obsessed leaker Daniel RPK (via The DisInsider) claims to have pulled up a casting breakdown for Star Wars: Ahsoka. The logline features Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger (details below), with Boca and Morai appearing in the others. According to the report,

"Boca is portrayed as a natural leader with a very strong spirit and independence. Boyish Middle Eastern, African, Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Mixed Race, and West Indian/Caribbean actors between the ages of 20-35 are sought.

"Morai, on the other hand, is portrayed as a very unstable and unreliable male character who is at the same time complex and shady. No specific race or ethnicity is mentioned for the role, but an actor between 40 and 60 years old would be ideal."
