I'm a fitness editor — this is one early Black Friday deal I'll get

As a fitness editor, I am always on the lookout for deals, whether it's a discount on running shoes or a popular running watch that is suddenly half off. As Black Friday approaches, many brands have already launched their sales early, and from cheap Fitbits to discounted treadmills, there are already plenty of Black Friday deals to be had.

The one that's catching my eye right now is the SF-T7515 Smart Treadmill from Sunny Health and Fitness, discounted $129 on Amazon. I haven't reviewed it myself yet, but the thousands of positive reviews by happy runners make this product hard to ignore.

So if you've been waiting to add a treadmill to your home gym setup, this is an early Black Friday deal worth shopping for.

Known for their affordable home exercise equipment, Sunny Health and Fitness products are not high-end, but they have all the tools for a great workout. If you're thinking about adding a treadmill to your home before winter sets in, it can be difficult to find reliable equipment that doesn't cost more than your monthly rent.

Admittedly, compared to the Peloton Tread or the NordicTrack Commercial 2950, this is pretty basic. It doesn't have a touchscreen or live interactive classes, but if you don't like that much and would rather plug and run, you won't have to worry about it. Plus, for under $400, you can afford a monthly subscription to a service like Peloton or Apple Fitness Plus and participate in workouts from your tablet or phone.

From a running perspective, the Sunny Health and Fitness SF-T7515 treadmill has 12 incline levels, ranging from 0% to 12% (which is a fairly steep hill to climb). The speed range is 8 mph (approximately 7 minutes and 29 seconds per mile). Not quite fast enough for all runners, but adequate for beginners and runners who enjoy easy mileage runs or hikes on the treadmill. No matter how fast you run, the digital LCD display will show time, distance, speed, calories, incline, and heart rate (when using the handrail pulse sensor).

The treadmill has three countdown modes: time, distance, and calories. This makes it easy to run for an hour or run a 5K a couple of times a week to get a PB in the next Turkey Trot. The treadmill is equipped with Bluetooth, allowing users to connect their cell phones to the treadmill and play music.

The arms of the treadmill have quick-reach incline and speed buttons similar to the design of much more expensive treadmills, as well as a handrail pulse sensor. The handlebars are non-slip and there is a bottle holder large enough to hold most sports bottles. The running surface is 49.5 inches long and 15.6 inches wide, but user reviews say it is long enough for taller runners to straddle comfortably. Other runners commented that the treadmill runs quietly.

A major selling point of this treadmill, compared to more expensive treadmills, is that it folds up when not in use and has wheels to move it to the corner. If you don't have a lot of space or live in a house with kids or pets, this is a great option.

On the safety side, there is a soft drop system and emergency stop clips that prevent the treadmill from hitting the ground when it is unfolded. Although slightly more expensive, I would recommend purchasing the $89 expert assembly option for the peace of mind that the tread is safe. (I would also buy the $24.99 two-year warranty, but I'm a klutz.)

It's not the fanciest treadmill on the market, but for under $500 with assembly, it's a steal.
