It's time to watch "Dune" online (or in theaters if you're on the director's side). Both die-hard and new fans can now watch "Dune," Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic, from the comfort of their own homes. I've already seen an advance screening and should be quite excited. [The story of the Atreides family, including son Paul (Timothée Chalamet), patriarch Leto (Oscar Isaac), and Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), who take power on the spice-mining planet Arrakis.

The Atreides family has enemies lurking around every corner, but also allies like Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa) and Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin), tough soldiers who train young Paul in combat. And when not looking at those fascinating people, Javier Bardem and Zendaya both play mysterious roles.

Oh, and if you're wondering about Oscar Isaac's fabulous beard, which, according to an article in GQ, took "14 weeks to grow," he shampoos and conditions it regularly and applies beard oil. Of course, brushing and trimming are a given. In barely related news, Dune's character skin is now available in Fortnite.

I contend that Dune would probably look and sound great in a nice home theater adorned with the best 4K TV and an excellent sound system. However, some scenes seem a bit cropped and may work better in IMAX.

In the United States, "Dune" will "officially" open on Friday, October 22. Nevertheless, many movie theaters have set screening times for today (Thursday, October 21), as they do for many big new releases. So it's no surprise that "Dune" is streaming a little earlier on HBO Max.

"Dune" will stream on HBO Max today at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. ET.

"Dune" (and other day-and-date Warner Bros. films) will not be available on the ad-supported version of HBO Max.

"Dune" will be released in Canadian theaters on Friday, October 22.

But bad news for Canadians hoping to stream "Dune," HBO Max is a U.S. exclusive, and the movie will not be available on other services for Crave (which also has such a movie) streaming.

I have seen mixed reactions to "Dune," and in my editorial on how to view "Dune," I praised the film for its perfection, visuals, and overall quality. I will admit, however, that it can feel a bit long-winded at times.

In the Washington Post, Michael O'Sullivan praised "Dune" as the film fans have been waiting for. He also noted that "somehow, despite its enormous running time and minor imperfections, it is almost purely enjoyable and rarely boring."
