Why Brooklyn Bedding's New Custom Mattress Could Be The Key To Good Sleep

American sleep brand Brooklyn Bedding has introduced a new custom mattress designed to reduce discomfort in bed and help people sleep better. The custom-made mattresses are ideal for those who have been unable to find the perfect bed in the past. Currently, Brooklyn Bedding's custom mattresses are on sale for up to $571 off. Prices start at $1,294.26.

Unfortunately, the new custom models are only available in three sizes (queen, king, and cal king), but there are three firmness levels to choose from. In addition, you can choose from three different outer fabrics, including a cooling material for those who are hot, and three different comfort layer materials, ranging from high-end memory foam to natural latex, so you can customize it to your liking.

For those who want to share a bed with a partner but still enjoy different firmness, split comfort models (King and Cal King only) are also available at no extra charge compared to single firmness models.

If you are looking for the best mattress for your sleep and body needs, a model that can be customized to your personal preferences is a wise choice.

Customizable mattresses are nothing new, but they are less common than the top mattress-in-a-box brands. They can also improve sleep by creating an ideal bed that is more comfortable, cooler, and more supportive.

The new Brooklyn Bedding custom mattresses are available in comfort and support layers made of different materials, including foam, latex, and springs. Priced at $1,294.26 for a queen size:

An interesting aspect of the pricing is that there is no additional charge for a model that has a different feel of comfort on the left and right sides of the bed. Normally, adding such personalization would cost more, so it is pleasing to see that Brooklyn Bedding does not charge extra for this additional layer. For an extra $100, you can choose organic cotton, Luxury Cooling, or Recovery Top (fabrics designed to "convert body heat into recovery energy").

The trial period is 120 nights, which is about average (there is also a trial period of up to 365 nights). If you change your mind, the brand will refund your money and collect your mattress. As for coverage, Brooklyn Bedding offers a 10-year warranty on new custom mattresses.

Brooklyn Bedding's Custom Mattresses compete with Helix Sleep and its award-winning series of more personalized hybrid and memory foam mattresses. Prices for these mattresses range from $1,099 to $2,349, not too far off the price of Brooklyn Bedding's new releases.

On the more luxurious end of the spectrum is Saatva, a customizable Solea adjustable mattress. It is nearly three times the price.

So for a mattress with a higher degree of customization and a choice of natural materials, we were impressed with the pricing of the Brooklyn Bedding Custom Mattress. Less impressive is the narrow range of sizes: there are only queens, kings, and cal kings.

Custom mattresses are available in queen, king, and Cal King sizes, and can be customized for firmness (soft, medium, firm), sleeping comfort, and outer fabric. You can also combine the best mattress topper for your budget to further enhance the effect.

Comfort and top fabric options are the most interesting. Hot sleepers who need deep compression support have the option of a cool, gel-filled Luxe memory foam layer, while those who want more natural materials have the option of a natural, breathable latex layer (see our best cooling mattress guide for similar mattress technologies). To relieve pressure points, there is a super-elastic TitanFlex layer.

Top fabric choices include organic cotton (included), Luxury Cooling (add $100), and Recovery (add $100). The latter is a clever innovation that converts body heat into restorative energy. If you are familiar with Bear Mattresses and its Seriant Power fabric, this is not a million miles away.

"With the introduction of Brooklyn Custom, we are excited to share our mattress knowledge with consumers on a new level, allowing them to build the best sleep experience based on their personal comfort preferences," said Brooklyn Bedding owner and CEO said John Merwin, Chief Executive Officer.
