How to Watch Apple Events — Start Time and What to Expect

Apple's event is underway. Know how to watch the Apple "Unleashed" event. Visit the Apple Unleashed event live blog to learn about the big announcements that will be made at the second Apple keynote this fall.

We're expecting two new MacBook Pro 2021 laptops with the powerful M1X chip, a new Mac mini, and possibly AirPods 3. But the new MacBook should be the star of the show, as it has been teased with a full makeover that includes a mini LED display, slimmer bezel, more ports, and other upgrades.

Here's what you need to know about the Apple Unleashed event and where you can watch the live stream.

The Apple Unleashed event starts today, Monday, October 18, at 10:00 am PT. That's 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and 6:00 PM Central Standard Time. Apple's virtual events often last about an hour. The company's September event lasted about 90 minutes, but its iPhone-centric event was packed with many product announcements.

The easiest way to watch Apple's Unleashed event is to follow along on YouTube; the YouTube video is embedded above so you don't have to search for how to watch Apple events.

In addition to YouTube, you can also watch the Unleashed event from Apple's website; if you have an Apple TV, the event will be streamed on the TV channel of that set-top box.

Apple expects to release two new MacBook Pro models, the MacBook Pro 2021 14-inch and MacBook 2021 16-inch, both with the powerful new M1X chip. Both models are said to offer brighter, more colorful mini LED displays.

Interestingly, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that the new MacBook Pro will also be the first new design in five years. Fans are hoping for the return of MagSafe charging and more ports, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.

Last-minute rumors of a MacBook Pro 2021 indicate that the new MacBook Pro design will have a notch to house a webcam (like an iPhone), which seems a bit outlandish even for Apple.

The Apple AirPods 3 is also very likely. We expect a design with a shorter stem, touch controls, and interchangeable silicone ear tips. However, we do not expect active noise cancellation.

The Mac mini is also expected to make an appearance at this month's event. Not only is it rumored to feature the latest Apple silicon and offer a compact number-crunching machine at a great price, but it may also drop the all-aluminum finish of the current model in favor of a sleek new design.

Gurman's Power On newsletter claims that the new Mac mini will have a total of four Thunderbolt ports. Jon Prosser, a prominent leaker at Front Page Tech, also claims that the Mac mini will have a "plexiglass" top and a magnetic power connector like the iMac 2021.
