Samsung Galaxy S22 Rumored Tips Design and dimensions of all 3 models

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S22 family of smartphones is expected to arrive in early 2022, and now a series of diagrams seem to reaffirm the allegedly leaked designs we've already seen.

The diagrams were shared with SamMobile, but the site does not mention their source or background, so take them with a pinch of salt. In any case, the diagram appears to match the Galaxy S22 design we have seen before, while also supporting reports that this generation of handsets will be smaller.

Here are pictures of the Galaxy S22 and the larger S22 Pro." Earlier reports of the "Plus" name being removed also appear to have been accurate.

The S22 measures 149.98 x 70.56 x 7.65 mm, while the S22 Pro could be 157.43 x 75.83 x 7.65 mm. For reference, the S21 was 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm and the S21 Plus was 161.5 x 75.6 x 7.8 mm.

The shape, as shown earlier, is the same as the current Galaxy S21, with curved corners and a raised area for the camera bump. But even here some dimensions are actually known, occupying 49.63 x 21.32 mm on the S22 and 49.95 x 21.64 mm on the S22 Pro.

This figure also confirms reports that the S22 Ultra is a very different beast in appearance, essentially becoming the Galaxy Note 22 in everything but name.

We had previously heard that this would be the S22 device without the new size, but the claimed size of 163.29 x 77.87 x 9.05 mm is somewhat different from the S21 Ultra's 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9 mm frame.

It is also possible that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will not only support the S Pen like its predecessor, but may actually have a place to dock the S Pen like the former Note series. This means that the S Pen, which has become an optional accessory for the S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3, will likely be included and more convenient.

One interesting change, however, is that the docking port for the S Pen has been moved to the left side from the right side used on the Note. This will take some getting used to for long-time users.

Still, Note fans concerned about the phablet's demise should rejoice. This is because this seems to be Samsung's way of maintaining the form factor without having to deal with three different lines of flagships being released each year.

The only concern is the price; with the S Pen bundled and the price of the device rising, the Galaxy S22 Ultra could exceed the $1,199 Samsung charged for the previous model.
