Harley Quinn Season 3 will be released next year, but the biggest question is what DC will let this goofy series do. Yes, the goofy animated show "Harley Quinn" is getting a lot of buzz because of one potential scene that DC tried to veto.

Harley Quinn is one of HBO Max's best shows and has been one of my most anticipated shows for next season since binge-watching the first two seasons on HBO Max. Even those involved with Harley Quinn Season 3 don't have a clear answer. Showrunner Justin Halpern told the podcast Masters of None, "I think it will probably be released late this year or early next year, because animation takes time. That would mean the end of 2021 or early 2022.

He also said that a Joker stand-alone episode will appear in Season 3 and will spend another episode in the character's brain.

And he expects Harley Quinn to appear on HBO Max and only on HBO Max; as reported by Deadline, the show will not air on the debut DC Universe service. The service is transitioning away from its original programming.

The gallery of villains and heroes in Harley Quinn is as dense as any show's, and often that is the point. Alan Tudyk not only voices Clayface and the Joker, but also Calendar Man, Doctor Trap, and Condiment King.

A gallery of those expected to return for Harley Quinn Season 3 follows, with news of a new name behind the microphone. Patrick Schumacher (the show's writer/producer) announced on his Twitter page that Sam Richardson (Veep) will be joining the show. The character Richardson will voice was omitted.

As for who else could be heard. Halpern is thinking of having a trio of villains like Nathan Fielder, John Wilson, and Joe Pera voice the characters. Basically, "a villain with the voice of a really quiet old man." Shortly after saying that, he confirmed that the Mad Hatter would appear in Harley Quinn Season 3.

As for Kite Man, Halpern and Schumacher told EW that the character will not be a threat to Ivy and Quinn's romance. Also revealed in that interview was that Gotham is stuck in Bane and that the character will not be killed off. We will kill most of the characters except Harley and Ivy, but we will never kill Bane," Halpern stated. "

Harley Quinn's brains are immersed in the decoder ring game that we've come to expect from other Batman villains. Writer/producer Patrick Schumacher tweeted a photo of M. Night Shamalayan and his chicken wings, captioning it, "Can't wait to see which new characters we get in season 3."

It didn't take a Riddler to figure out that it alludes to Dick Grayson's alter ego, Night Wing. It is unclear who will voice this character.

As Variety reported, the folks at DC Comics tried to stop certain raunchy acts from appearing in Harley Quinn Season 3. According to Halpern, "There was a moment when Batman was going at Catwoman. And DC said, 'You can't do that. You can never do that. Heroes don't do that.'"

The DC team said, "We sell hero consumer toys. If Batman attacked someone, it would be hard to sell toys." It is unclear if this scene was adopted.
