Google's Pixel Fall Launch event scheduled for next Tuesday, October 19, did not stop the company from accidentally leaking new features about the upcoming Google Pixel 6.

According to Android Police, Google accidentally uploaded a screenshot to the GoogleNews Telegram group, showcasing the upcoming wireless charger for the Google Pixel 6 and various charging optimization modes. Along with a new set of options, Google appears to be expanding its Material You UI design to wireless charging settings as well.

The second-generation Pixel Stand wireless charger will add several interesting options for both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. One is an "optimize" mode that optimizes charging and is recommended in most situations. This mode appears to prioritize fast charging when the battery is low, and then reduce the charging speed when the battery exceeds a certain threshold.

Max mode, as the name suggests, charges the Pixel 6 as quickly as possible. The disclaimer states that "fan noise may become louder" during maximum charging.

Given the current rumors suggesting that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will support wireless charging at up to 23W, it makes sense that there would be a cooling fan to keep the components from overheating. Now, will the fan be built into the charger, or is it intended to cool the phone as well?

Finally, the silent charging mode is supposed to limit the speed of the fan, which may result in slower charging of the phone.

Unfortunately, this is all we know about the second-generation Pixel Stand. No word on a release date or price, but it will probably be released around the same time as the Pixel 6 and by the end of October. The current Pixel Stand costs $79, so we expect this second-generation model to be about the same.
