Fitbit's most stylish fitness tracker got a major upgrade

In our guide to the best Fitbits, we named the Fitbit Luxe the most fashionable Fitbit. Inspired by jewelry, the Fitbit Luxe looks beautiful on the wrist. More importantly, the tracker is even better because it picks up some key features from the Fitbit Charge 5.

Firmware update 1.151.16 adds two new features to the Fitbit Luxe.

With firmware update 1.151.16, the Fitbit Luxe adds two new features: an always-on display and the ability to view blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) data in the Health Metrics section of the Fitbit app.

In our review of the Fitbit Luxe, we were impressed with its lightweight, attractive design and color touchscreen, but we wished the display was a bit brighter, especially in direct sunlight The Fitbit Charge 5's always-on display is especially useful when running or working out a nice evolution when using the tracker during a run or workout. In fact, aside from the ECG sensor and EDA monitor, the Fitbit Charge 5's screen was one of the most impressive features, especially compared to previous versions of the tracker.

Of course, it is worth noting that in the Fitbit Charge 5, the always-on display has considerably shortened the battery life of the tracker; according to Fitbit, the Charge 5's battery life with the always-on display has been reduced from 7 days to 2 The Fitbit Luxe's battery life is 5 days, so expect to charge the tracker more when using the always-on feature.

Blood oxygen data was also previously only available on Fitbit's higher-end trackers. Once the update is installed, blood oxygen data will appear in the Health Metrics dashboard of the Fitbit mobile app. Unlike other fitness trackers, Luxe only measures SpO2 at night and during sleep. The tracker cannot be used to view SpO2 data during the day.

The Fitbit Daily Readiness Score feature is reserved for premium members. The Daily Readiness Score will tell you numerically how well rested you are based on your activity level, heart rate variability, and sleep score. This new feature is said to be coming later this year and will be available on the Fitbit Charge 5, Fitbit Luxe, Versa 3, Versa 2, and Inspire 2.

To try out this feature, a Fitbit Premium membership is required; the Fitbit Premium membership was launched two years ago and costs $9.99 per month. This subscription service offers personalized workouts, health and sleep insights, and coaching from top trainers.
