Rumors tips for the sketchy Samsung Galaxy S21FE have been announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event

Is it alive? Samsung's Galaxy S21 FE has been one of the most rumored and unrumored phones of the year; in June we heard that production of the Galaxy S21 FE had been suspended. Samsung then responded that no decision had been made.

We then received information that the Galaxy S21 FE may be cancelled to make room for Samsung's best-selling phones like the Galaxy Z Flip 3. We even saw rumors that the Galaxy S21 FE could be launched alongside the Galaxy S22 in early 2022.

Now, curiously, we are hearing that the Galaxy S21 FE could be announced at Samsung's Unpacked event on October 20, with a possible release date to be determined.

According to leaker Lanzuk (spotted by PhoneArena), the Galaxy S21 FE will be announced at the Part 2 Unpacked event and "pre-orders will begin immediately." This comes from a supply chain source, but Lanzuk does not have much of a track record, so this rumor cannot be fully trusted

The report further states that the Galaxy S21 FE launch date will be October 29 "in some regions" and that some accessories have already begun to be supplied to these regions in these regions.

At a time when even Apple is reportedly struggling to keep up with iPhone 13 demand due to global supply chain issues and chip shortages, we would be surprised if Samsung was able to successfully launch the Galaxy S21 FE as part of Unpacked. However, it seems too soon to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S22, which the company is surely going to announce something and is currently expected to be unveiled in February.

If it does come to fruition, the Galaxy S21 FE is said to offer strong specs at an affordable price, including a 6.4-inch 120Hz display, Snapdragon 888 chip, and 6GB of RAM. The S21 FE is also said to have a triple rear camera and a 4,370 mAh battery.

Over time, it is understandable to doubt the purpose of the Galaxy S21 FE, especially considering Samsung's mid-range A-series phones like the Galaxy A52. That phone has a less powerful Snapdragon 870 chip, but otherwise has fairly premium features, including 5G connectivity.

We'll keep an eye on Samsung Unpacked, but for now we wouldn't consider the Galaxy S21 FE a lock for the event.
