The latest Google Pixel 6 leaks revolve around the phone's price. And if those details turn out to be true, the Pixel 6 Pro seems like a much smarter buy than the standard Pixel 6.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, This Is Tech Today's M. Brandon Lee revealed the potential price of the phone and the new Pixel Stand, a refreshed version of Google's wireless charging stand. Lee's leaked information also extends to colors and features.

The most significant of the leaks is a screenshot of the terms and conditions of a Google-sponsored sweepstakes in which the basic Pixel 6 price was listed at $850 for legal reasons. This price appears to have been removed from later versions of the document, but not until Lee obtained the screenshot.

The $850 price is an odd starting price for Google, as the Pixel 5 seems to have been targeted at the cheaper segment of the market, and while it is higher than the Pixel 5 price ($699), as expected, it looks expensive compared to other phones.

At $850, the Pixel 6 is more expensive than the iPhone 13 and Samsung's Galaxy S21 (both $800), but cheaper than the Galaxy S21 Plus ($999) and iPhone 13 Pro ($999). Granted, that's not a huge difference, but given that the base Galaxy S21 device offers considerably more hardware value (higher refresh rate, telephoto zoom, etc.) and the iPhone 13 has the fastest processor and stellar camera, Google may be a bit indicating that it may be too bold.

The cost of the Pixel 6 Pro is not directly mentioned, but it is a matter of speculation; as can be seen in another screenshot provided by Lee, Google's "Raven" and "Oriole" are shown next to the numbers 649 and 899, respectively The two numbers are not shown in the screenshot. Lee claims that these numbers are the euro-denominated prices of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Lee uses the figure of 899 euros (which translates directly to about $1039) to estimate the Pixel 6 Pro's price in dollars. Given the alleged inclusion of mmWave 5G support in other leaks, he puts the price of the Pro model at $1,099, but adds the caveat that the price is subject to change at the last minute. iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available for the same price, and Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra are each $100 cheaper.

If anything, these details suggest that the Pixel 6 Pro would be the better buy of the two phones if you can afford it; the Pixel 6 Pro offers a larger 6.7-inch display and a faster 120Hz refresh rate (the regular Pixel 6 has 90Hz), and a 4x optical/20x digital zoom telephoto camera. The Pixel 6 Pro is also expected to have a larger battery that will last longer on a charge.

Next, Lee revealed pricing and other details about the redesigned Pixel Stand, which will apparently go on sale for $79 and offer up to 23W wireless charging for the Pixel 6 series. It is cooled by a built-in fan and offers the same functionality when docked, plus it is compatible with Google Meet.

There are two charging coils inside the stand, with the lower coil designed for charging wearable devices like the Google Pixel Buds 2. There are two color options, one of which appears to be the white version shown in the photo Lee posted, though he did not mention what the other option is.

One wonders what Google has named the new colors for the Pixel 6 series, but Lee claims to know. He says the base Pixel 6 comes in Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Stormy Black, while the Pixel 6 Pro comes in Sorta Sunny, Cloudy White, and Stormy Black.

The images showing these names also show how Google is marketing both of the new phones. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, is a true flagship model, offering 128GB and 256GB of storage in most markets, with a 512GB option in the U.S. and Australia Lee also details the upgrade program, extended warranty, and Google Services Lee also detailed "Pixel Pass," a combination of upgrade programs, extended warranties, and subscriptions to Google services.

The Pixel 6 series marks the second major refresh of Google's flagship smartphone in two years. However, this revamp has caught the attention of the cell phone world due to Google's unveiling of a brand new look for the phone and a slew of leaked information that gives us even more reason to be excited. This includes Google's most sophisticated camera system to date, a larger display, a larger battery, as well as a new Tensor chipset designed by Google and dedicated to AI and machine learning capabilities.

Google will hold a Pixel event for the Pixel 6 a week from today, on October 19. That is when these rumors will finally be confirmed (or denied), and sales are expected to begin the following week on October 28.
