These days, it is possible to get hundreds of miles of range out of an electric vehicle, so much so that many insiders have declared the concept of "range anxiety" dead.

However, this notion hinges on the ability of EVs to actually meet their advertised range goals. So we decided to take the Long Range Tesla Model 3 from central London to Land's End on the edge of Cornwall for a little test.

The journey we made in the car, which Tesla claims is capable of 360 miles, was approximately 313 miles. Theoretically, this trip should have been absolutely effortless, with enough range to get us there. But what would it actually be? Let's find out in the following videos:

As it turns out, Tesla's advertised range was about right. Not only did we start our trip without having to fill up the battery, but we were able to travel over 300 miles without having to plug in.

Of course, as the range counter approached zero miles, many things could have gone wrong, and we were quite anxious towards the end of the trip. But, as I showed in the video, it is not that we could not have tried to recharge the batteries if we wanted to. And in fact, we could have done so, which would have eased our fears as we approached the finish line.

Had we done so, however, it would not have been a very good range test!
