WandaVision Season 2 is probably not happening, but a spinoff is underway

Is Season 2 of Wander Vision in the works? The answer, unfortunately, seems to be "no." Marvel's first Disney Plus series was a huge hit and generated a lot of buzz on social media. However, the production team behind "Wander Vision" has not given fans any hope for a second season.

UPDATE: Marvel is apparently building a new show from the ashes of WandaVision. That's right, a new series has been in the works for Agatha from the beginning, with an Agatha Harkness series starring Kathryn Hahn in development for Disney Plus. The original article is below.

From the beginning, MCU boss Kevin Feige made it clear that the events of "Wander Vision" would lead to the film "Doctor Strange: The Madness Multiverse." Feige has been tight-lipped about the prospects for "Wander Vision" Season 2. He told reporters in February, "I've been at Marvel too long to say a definitive 'no' on a second season of 'Wander Vision. It's not for nothing. [But in June, star Elizabeth Olsen made it clear in a roundtable interview with EW.com that "Wander Vision" is a limited series. When actress Kaley Cuoco asked about "Wander Vision" Season 2, she replied, "No, it's not. It is definitely a limited series."

Its status as a limited series seems to have been cemented by its multiple Emmy nominations in related categories. Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology Series, Best Actress (Olsen), Best Actor (Paul Bettany), and Best Supporting Actress (Kathryn Hahn) nominations.

So things are not looking good for "Wander Vision" Season 2. However, Feige himself has said that he will not say "absolutely no." Olsen also retracted his statement a bit, adding I mean, with Marvel, you can never say no."

If Wander Vision Season 2 does happen, what can we expect? Several threads were left unresolved in episode 9 of Wander Vision, which may not be addressed in Doctor Strange 2. Plus, who wouldn't want more Agnes, uh, Agatha (played by the Queen, Kathryn Hahn)?

Even if "Wander Vision" Season 2 somehow gets the go-ahead, it probably won't premiere for several years. Marvel has a long list of upcoming Disney Plus shows. This year alone, we've already seen Falcon, The Winter Soldier, and Loki. Coming up are "What If," "Ms. Marvel," and "Hawkeye."

Then there's Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, and the untitled Wakanda series. Oh, and "Loki" Season 2 has just been announced.

And as noted, Wanda Vision is associated with "Doctor Strange: The Madness Multiverse," which will not be released until March 25, 2022. If Marvel does decide to produce a "Wander Vision" Season 2, it will not happen until late 2022 at the earliest, more likely 2023 or 2024.

The cast of Wanda Vision was led by Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany as Vision.

They were joined by Kathryn Hahn as Agnes/Agatha Harkness, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambo, Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Wu, and Kat Dennings as physicist Darcy Lewis.

If Season 2 of "Wander Vision" ever materializes, it is highly unlikely that it will proceed without the two leads. Hahn's performance was praised by all, and she seems a must. Paris seems to be joining Captain Marvel for the time being. I would love to see a cross between Park and Dennings. But who knows what Marvel has planned for all of these characters.

That said, if there is a "Wanda Vision" Season 2, it seems unlikely that Westview residents like Emma Caulfield and Evan Peters will appear.

One of the biggest unresolved storylines of WandaVision Season 1 concerns White Vision. In the finale episode, White Vision (created from Vision's vibranium body) confronts Vision (created by Wanda's powers).

Wanda's Vision uses philosophy to successfully incapacitate White Vision, giving him all his memories. White Vision then flies away, and his whereabouts remain unknown until the end of the episode.

But that's not the end of the White Vision story. There is a powerful vibranium android flying around somewhere with all of Vision's memories.

If there is a season 2 of Wanda Vision, perhaps Wanda and White Vision will be reunited. They might even fall in love, even though White Vision does not have the Mind Stone. It would definitely be an interesting test of the Theseus ship thought experiment.
