Windows 11 debuts this week - you can read our Windows 11 review now - with software updates rolling out to eligible Windows 10 laptops and desktops. So you may be asking if your PC has what it takes to run Microsoft's latest OS.

Answering this question is not easy. This is because Microsoft has set strict system requirements for Windows 11 in the name of improved security. Most notably, Windows 11 requires PCs to have the latest CPU and 2.0 Trusted Platform Module (TPM). But if you are looking for a new laptop, here are some Windows 11-compatible laptops.

First, you will want to check to see if your current Windows 10 laptop can run Windows 11. The easiest way to check is to visit Microsoft's Windows 11 page and download the PC Health Check app.

To make things easier, we have created a master list of laptops that can run Windows 11. they may have shipped with Windows 10 installed, but all of these laptops should be able to upgrade to Windows 11 without problems.

Of course, this is just a cheat sheet of the most notable Windows 11-capable laptops currently available from various manufacturers. Microsoft has already announced the Surface Pro 8, Surface Go 3, and Surface Laptop Studio, which will debut on October 5 with Windows 11. It goes without saying that laptops not on this list will probably run Windows 11 as well.

Acer has its own Windows 11 page aimed at helping customers prepare for the next big thing in Windows, and Asus is one of the few laptop makers to publish a complete list of Windows-11-ready PCs. Here is an abbreviated version:

Dell has launched a Windows 11 page that provides upgrade tips and answers frequently asked questions about moving from Windows 10 to 11. The company has not (yet) published a complete list of which PCs will support Windows 11, but has begun listing "Free Upgrade to Windows 11" on its Windows 11-compatible laptop product pages.

The company plans to begin selling PCs with Windows 11 pre-installed in late 2021. In the meantime, here is a list of the top Dell laptops currently available that are Windows 11 compatible.

HP has its own Windows 11 page with a brief summary of which HP laptops will support Windows 11 and when. The short answer: any laptop that meets the Windows 11 requirements and is currently running the latest version of Windows 10 should have no problem upgrading when the time comes.
