Google Pixel 6 is all about the latest advertising widget about upcoming phones

Google is taking a very unconventional approach to the launch of the Google Pixel 6, scheduled for later this month. Rather than unveiling the phone first and then flooding the airwaves with commercials and ads, the search giant is opting to hype the Pixel 6 in a marketing blitz now before a proper press conference.

And it looks like Google Japan has uploaded a new ad for the Pixel 6, showing off a number of widgets and a colorful pastel theme.

The ad, embedded below, showcases various styles of music widgets. These include transparent ones with album art and play/pause buttons, and simpler trackwheel-type ones with titles and some basic playback controls.

Widgets come in a variety of fun shapes. The clock widget ditches the basic circular design in favor of a wavy circular pattern, while the weather widget takes the form of a slanted oval. The contact widget displays the face of the person when they call or have recently called.

Not surprisingly, advertising focuses on widgets. This is part of the soon-to-be-released Android 12 update, which will no doubt bring new mobile software to the Pixel 6.

The ad itself emphasizes that smartphones, like the people who use them, should be customized to fit their lifestyles, whether they are artists or food influencers.

Of course, Google wants to show off its new Tensor chip, a custom processor in collaboration with Samsung that has already been confirmed for the Pixel 6. A potential game changer, the Tensor chip will use enhanced AI and machine learning for better computational photography. What this means is that the Google Pixel 6 will be able to quickly analyze and enhance photos for the best possible results. And given that the Pixel 6 is rumored to have a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor, that's a lot of pixels to analyze on the fly.

Google Japan also uploaded a more confusing ad two weeks ago showing a woman using a bag of Google-branded potato chips as her phone.

Despite all the information and pictures floating around the Internet, an exact release date and price for the Google Pixel 6 have yet to be announced. Right now, the latest rumors suggest that the Pixel 6 will be available on October 19 and in stores on October 27, with prices starting at $749. If true, the Pixel 6 will not only reach our hands soon, but it will also not be blatantly expensive for a flagship model.
