Update: The iPhone 14 Max with 120Hz LTPO display could be released in 2022.

Apple's iPhone 14 lineup is said to consist of four models, like this year's iPhone 13 models. However, next year, instead of the iPhone 14 mini, the iPhone 14 Max is likely to be a lower-priced version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This is according to reliable leaker Jon Prosser, who in his latest Front Page Tech video claims that a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 is in development and is set to offer Apple fans a larger iPhone without the "Pro" premium He claims that it appears to be.

Given that the iPhone 13 series has just been released, we would be rather skeptical of this early leak. But it's also something that both Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg tipster Mark Gurman claim and corroborate, noting that there will be a large-screen next-generation iPhone without the hefty ticket price. In other words, there's definitely something worth noting here.

Apple has a history of larger standard iPhones, dating back to the iPhone 6 Plus. It was really only with the iPhone 11 series that Cupertino opted for the Pro model, which offers more than a larger screen, rather than making a larger standard iPhone.

Given the desire for larger screen phones, this seems like a shrewd move for Apple, especially as the iPhone 12 mini reportedly did not sell well. In our iPhone 13 mini review, we were impressed with the phone, but so far have yet to get a feel for how well it has sold.

As for other iPhone 14 hints and rumors, the notch will be replaced with a punch hole camera and a flat rear camera bump, and the range is expected to be completely redesigned. It is also said that Touch ID will return in the form of an under-display fingerprint scanner, rather than relying solely on Face ID as a biometric security option.
