It appears that the iPhone 13 is experiencing yet another problem.

According to reports from social media and forums (via MacRumors), several users say their new iPhones are having trouble responding to taps. Of course, this is a major issue, but fortunately, this may be a software issue rather than a hardware problem.

The iPhone 13 generally still seems to work, but there have been reports of tap-to-wake, lock screen, and general OS-wide incidents where it may take several taps before the input registers on the phone. In some cases, a reboot may be required to get things working properly; one iPhone 13 Pro user stated that he particularly struggles with touch sensitivity in the upper corners of the display.

While there have been many reports from iPhone 13 users, the issue may actually be iOS 15, based on similar reports from users with iPhone 12 or older devices running the new software. While not comforting for affected users, Apple could easily fix this issue with an over-the-air update.

This is not the only issue facing the new iPhone. iPhone 13 has also had problems unlocking the Apple Watch, but this issue appears to be on its way to being resolved thanks to a fix found in iOS 15.1 beta 2. Other issues with the iPhone 13 include the ProMotion display not always supporting 120Hz mode on Pro models, and a camera auto-switching issue that Apple is trying to address in an update.
