Rendered images of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra have been released. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra could be the best Galaxy Note ever.

The rendered images are by the usually reliable OnLeaks and were published by Digit. Not only does the design look like an homage to the curved look of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, but the rendered image also incorporates a perforated selfie camera and a slot for S Pen docking.

S Pen docking is a rumor we've heard before about the S22 Ultra and would certainly be more convenient for scribblers than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which only offers a place for the S Pen in an optional case.

However, it is on the back where Samsung is reportedly taking a radical turn, with the strangest looking camera array since the Pixel 6's "visor" was leaked. We're used to raised camera humps, but this one eschews square or rectangular designs for something 'P' shaped. It should be noted that these renderings are not official and may not be accurate.

Strange as it may seem, when compared to photos of the current Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the lenses all appear to be in the same place, just with the corners cut off.

The Digit report adds that not much is known about the quad-camera setup except that it will likely "showcase a significant improvement" in performance and that "one of the camera sensors appears to be a periscope telephoto lens."

The report adds that the device will retain the 6.8-inch screen panel size from the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which is consistent with earlier reports. For reference, the current Galaxy S Ultra model measures 75.6 x 165.1 x 8.9 mm.

Combined with recent reports about the smaller Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus, it seems likely that Samsung will merge the S and Note product lines, with the Note possibly replacing the S Ultra model.

It feels like a sensible compromise, and while the Galaxy Note certainly has its enthusiasts, Samsung plans to launch three separate devices in 2020, the S, Note, and Fold/Flip, and things are starting to feel a bit crowded for Samsung. was beginning to feel a bit crowded for Samsung.

Therefore, I would be very surprised if Samsung announces a Note-branded product in addition to this next year - and it would definitely upset some people, especially those who prefer a cheaper version of the Note without the "ultra" bells and whistles.
