Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra tilted for built-in just opened by the reader

Samsung's Galaxy Note line may be dead, but the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra could get the phablet's best features, according to a new rumor.

A new post on the Weibo page of leaker Ice Universe mentions that in addition to some interesting design changes, the Galaxy S22 Ultra could have a built-in S Pen stylus. Samsung's Galaxy Note 21 was officially canceled this year, so the Galaxy S22 Ultra will likely be the replacement smartphone stylus fans are looking for.

While the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is compatible with the S Pen, it is a separate accessory that can only be attached to the phone via a specific case. The Galaxy S22 Ultra instead appears to use a smaller S Pen that fits into the phone itself, which would be much more convenient for users. [The Galaxy S22 Ultra's design is also said to resemble the Galaxy Note series; Ice Universe does not specify how, but we imagine it will include a more square design (Galaxy S phones traditionally have rounded corners) and possibly a wider body. The post is 19.3.3. The post mentions a 19.3:9 screen ratio, which, if true, would make the Galaxy S22 Ultra a wider phone than the Galaxy S21 series' 20:9 display.

Ice Universe also mentions the presence of a 5,000 mAh battery. This is comparable to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and makes sense for the size of the phone. However, we have heard that other models in the Galaxy S22 family will have smaller batteries. According to this rumor, the base Galaxy S22 battery will be 3,700 mAh, down from 4,000 mAh in the Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy S22 Plus will be 4,500 mAh, down from 4,800 mAh.

A second leak from GalaxyClub (via XDA Developers) reveals color variations for the Galaxy S22. The site admits that these options may change before the phone ships.

The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus may share the same four colors: white, black, rose gold, and green, GalaxyClub adds that the green color may be similar to the green available on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in three choices: white, black, and dark red.

Taken together, it appears that all Galaxy S22 models will be available in handsome new colors. But perhaps more importantly, the Ultra handset could take over the mantle of the Galaxy Note series, which has not been updated since the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in 2020. But only time will tell for sure next year, when the handset goes on sale.
