The new MacBook Air, AirPods Pro and iPad Pro have been tipped for next year

Apple's next MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and AirPods Pro 2 will be announced in 2022, Bloomberg's Mark Garman reports in his latest Power On newsletter.

So anyone thinking of buying a new laptop with Apple-branded earbuds might want to hold their fire unless they are interested in something like the MacBook Pro 2021, which is said to be announced this fall.

The good news is that Apple is still hinting at a few more product reveals to reveal this year. They are expected to be the new 14-inch MacBook Pro, the Macbook Pro 2021 16-inch model, and the AirPods 3. While we did not expect to see a MacBook at last week's California Streaming event, we are curious to see if the redesigned, basic AirPods will appear with the iPhone 13.

Back to the MacBook Air, now that Gurman says it will appear next year, a new M-series chip could be on the way, the Apple M2, which is said to prioritize efficiency as opposed to the low power that the rumored M1X chip is said to target. It is expected to be a chip. A new design for the MAcBook Air is also expected, likely to frame the laptop's rather chunky display bezel.

The AirPods Pro 2 has not been the subject of many leaks recently. From what we have heard so far, Apple may be considering removing the distinctive stalk of the first AirPods Pro and may add fitness tracking capabilities. The wireless earbuds are expected to sell for around $249, similar to when the first AirPods Pro was released.

Those disappointed by the modest reworking of the Apple Watch 7 may see the significant flat-side redesign rumored before the event in the Apple Watch 8. The lineup may also expand from two to three models, Garman says.

As for the next iPad Pro, according to Gurman, apparently only the design will change. However, other rumors suggest that the iPad Pro (11") will be upgraded to a mini LED display, the same display technology as the 12.9" model.

These premium tablets are said to use the M1 chip, like the current MacBook Air and MacBook Pro M1, so it is possible that these too will be upgraded to the next generation M-series chips. Apparently, these could be manufactured on a 3-nanometer process, a significant upgrade over the 5-nanometer M1 chip, meaning a denser chip with higher performance and power efficiency per square inch. The next iPad Pro may feature wireless charging, which is still rare in tablets.

We have only just seen the iPhone 13, but the iPhone 14 is also coming next year. It will likely feature a punch-hole notch, a redesigned rear camera, and a new chip that is more powerful and efficient.

Gurman also mentions that there will be a new version of Apple's most expensive desktop computer, the Mac Pro. More excitingly, he states that Apple's mixed reality headset may finally debut.

While there is much to pick up from Gurman's predictions, we are confident that the new MacBook Air and AirPods Pro 2 will arrive in the first half of next year.
