Here's why you want to use Apple's new MagSafe wallet with your iPhone13:

Update: Since MagSafe's debut, we've seen a series of accessories, including Razer's new and strange iPhone 13 MagSafe cooler.

It will soon be possible to track the location of your MagSafe wallet thanks to the "Find My" tracking feature added to the low-tech accessory. The announcement was made during yesterday's Apple event, where the iPhone 13 lineup, Apple Watch Series 7, 9th generation iPad, and iPad mini 6 were unveiled.

According to Apple, through the Find My Wallet app, "if your wallet is disconnected from your phone, you can be notified of its last known whereabouts." It should be noted, however, that the newly updated Magsafe wallet does not support the kind of precise tracking that can be obtained from Apple AirTags.

Therefore, if the wallet's location changes after it is disconnected from the iPhone, the "Find" app will only record the GPS location at the time it was disconnected from the iPhone, so it appears that the wallet cannot be tracked.

Another curious factor is the fact that the Find My app apparently does not recognize the Clear Case with MagSafe. The reason for this is unknown, but it is possible that in order for the device to recognize the MagSafe wallet, the iPhone is reading special identification information to recognize the accessory.

While some users may find this MagSafe Wallet feature useful, it is debatable whether carrying a physical wallet with a built-in AirTag is more secure, as location tracking is more accurate and reliable.

Apart from the MagSafe wallet update, Apple has rolled out a series of MagSafe accessories in new colors to match the iPhone 13 and Pro models, all of which can be viewed on the official website.
