Inheritance Season 3 Release Date is 10/17 — Everything You Need To Know

Are you ready for civil war in the Roy family? With the release date for Season 3 of "Succession" set for October 17, HBO is playing both sides by teasing a family tussle that will have people turning right and left.

Specifically, the poster released on social media shows a family siding with Kendall and Logan Roy. This follows the climactic events of the season 2 finale, in which Kendall made the perhaps fierce decision to reveal that her father Logan was responsible for the Waystar's misdeeds.

The poster released on Twitter shows Shiv and Connor on Kendall's side of the frame, with Greg behind them, and on the other side, Logan in front and Roman and Tom Wamsgans behind him. However, on Instagram and Facebook, Roman and Greg are on Kendall's side, with Shiv, Tom, and Connor behind Logan.

This is all highlighted by the tagline "Make Your Move." We have no idea who will side with either of the Roy family heads. Clever marketing move, HBO.

The official copy reads, "Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of season two, Logan Roy begins season three in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances. Tensions mount as a bitter corporate feud threatens to turn into a family civil war.

In a previously released teaser trailer, Logan is about to attack Kendall before trying to make sure Shiv is on his side. Everyone is trying to bolster their armies, and Tom is making strange threats to Greg. Everything old is new. Also, Logan told his son he wants to break his bones.

New to the cast of Succession is Alexander Skarsgard ("True Blood," "Big Little Lies") as Lucas Mattson, CEO of a tech company. Sanaa Lathan will play Lisa Arthur, a famous New York lawyer, and Hope Davis will play Sandy Furness, Senator Furness' daughter.

Season 3 of "Succession" will air Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO beginning October 17.
