iPhone13 alleged benchmark just blew all Android phones away

If the numbers in this benchmark are to be believed, the iPhone 13 will likely be the best gaming phone ever.

According to FrontTron, a well-known leaker on Twitter via SlashGear, a new benchmark of the A15 Bionic chipset has appeared online on the Korean forum CliƩn, painting a rosy picture of Apple's upcoming mobile processor.

According to Tron, in a benchmark test conducted in July using GFXBench's Manhattan 3.1, the Apple A15 GPU recorded a peak of 198 fps. After throttling, the GPU clocked down and the frame rate dropped to 140-150.

For comparison, according to SamMobile, last year's A14 Bionic in the iPhone 12 Pro failed to exceed the 120 fps frame rate.

This shows how adept Apple is at improving silicon year over year; even the A15's throttle benchmark is above last year's peak.

Earlier this year, GizChina reported that Samsung's upcoming Exynos 2200 chip, developed with AMD, recorded 170 fps. This surpassed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 in the US version of Samsung's Galaxy S21 and perhaps even the next-generation Snapdragon 895. After thermal throttling, however, the Exynos 2200 hovered around 120 fps; GizChina did not reveal which GFXBench test was used to obtain these results, but it was probably either the Manhattan or Aztec test

These numbers are the same as those used for the Manhattan test.

Remember that we are discussing only GPU performance with these numbers; CPU performance may vary from test to test. Because of the different testing methods, Samsung may have an advantage in other metrics.

In any case, when it comes to gaming, Apple has a significant advantage over Samsung in GPU performance if the above numbers are to be believed. Also, given that Samsung manufactures a significant portion of mobile processors for Android, including the custom Tensor chip in the Google Pixel 6, Apple may have the most powerful gaming phone in 2021.

Whether the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 13 Pro tops the list of best gaming phones will depend on other factors such as screen refresh rate and touch response time.
