"The Circle" Season 3 Trailer Released Netflix is releasing a new social media-based reality show. From the trailer, it looks like we can expect more to come.

The Circle has been a huge hit for Netflix, so much so that Netflix has launched international versions in Brazil and France. And Netflix has already ordered The Circle seasons 4 and 5! (If you want to be on The Circle, check out the new NetflixReality.com site.)

The concept is a mashup of Big Brother and Catfish, with contestants living separately in the same building and messaging through The Circle app The contestants live separately in the same building and can only exchange messages through The Circle app. Some contestants choose to take on a different persona in order to beat the other contestants. In the latest edition, several catfish appeared in the finale, including the winner, DeLeesa St. Agathe.

For each round, contestants rank each other, with the top vote-getter earning influencer status and being able to block other players from the game.

Along the way, contestants participate in icebreakers and encounter developments that can be favorable (or unfavorable). Season 2 introduced the role of "joker," which allows Courtney to chat anonymously with new players. The new twist also gave blocked contestants Jack and Lisa a second chance by having them team up under a new profile.

The new twist includes a "burner profile" and a team of two players, sisters Chanel and Eva.

Netflix has set a September 8 release date for Circle Season 3. New episodes will be available on Wednesdays.

The Circle was so popular when it debuted in 2020 that Netflix immediately ordered two additional seasons, filming them back to back.
