The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are said to arrive on September 13, or at least they were, but leaker Jon Prosser claims his sources are telling him the next Google phone will arrive in October.

One source originally posted on the Chinese social media site Weibo that the Pixel phone bracelets would arrive just one day before Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 13. The person claimed that Google will hold an international Pixel 6 press conference on September 13.

In response, however, Prosser, who cites his source but does not explain where it comes from, claims that the Pixel 6 series will be available for pre-order on October 19, with retail sales beginning on October 28. And this leaker notes that the full reveal of the Pixel 6 series may also be the same day that pre-orders begin.

Google has released previous Pixel phones in October and sees no reason to change tactics. It would also be unwise for Google to launch the phone so close to the launch of the next iPhone.

Not only is the iPhone 13 expected to get a lot of attention next month, but rumors over the weekend suggest that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy S21 FE in September. This model is said to be a more affordable version of the Galaxy S21 and (depending on Google's pricing) could give the Pixel 6 a shot in the arm.

The smaller Pixel 6 is expected to feature a 6.4-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 4,614mAh battery; the Pixel 6 Pro is expected to feature a larger 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate with a 120Hz refresh rate.

By all accounts, Google appears to be going all out with a completely new design and true flagship specs with the Pixel 6. Of course, the company has also hinted at pricing for a true flagship, which may disappoint some Pixel fans. Google is also reportedly planning to push the Pixel 6 hard on the marketing front.
