As great as the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are, no technology is immune to hardware glitches. And if your iPhone 12 is having audio issues, it seems you're not alone. [According to Apple, a "small percentage" of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices are experiencing audio issues. The company says eligible customers can have the problem repaired free of charge.

Not all iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are affected, only those manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. This could affect a large number of people.

"If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not produce sound from the handset when making or receiving a call, you may be eligible for service," Apple states. This issue does not affect the iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max.

You can bring your iPhone to your local Apple Store for repair or contact Apple Support to mail your device in for repair; Apple also provides a list of authorized service providers.

While the repair service is appreciated, this is in anticipation of the iPhone 13, which is expected to be released next month. The new phone is expected to include several additional features, including a 120Hz OLED display for the Pro model, an enhanced camera, and an overall larger battery.

It is currently rumored that pre-orders for the iPhone 13 will begin on September 17, with a release date of September 24.
