This Tik Tok hack will clean the blender in seconds without a sponge

TikTok is constantly introducing new cleaning hacks. Some are admittedly better than others, but the latest trend is definitely handy to know if you own a full-size or personal blender.

Cleaning a blender is never a convenient time, especially as many of us take our smoothies straight out the door to work or the gym. Given this, when this cleaning hack first surfaced, it was welcomed by blender owners everywhere.

Blenders are great for smoothie lovers, but they can also be used for everyday recipes like mayonnaise and dough. The only problem with blenders is the waste they leave behind after use. The residue can get caught under the blades and is hard to reach. The mix can also stick to the walls of the jug and dry out, so it must be rinsed immediately to avoid this.

Some brands have dishwasher-safe parts, but in my experience, you end up washing them by hand because you need the blender again before using the dishwasher.

Fortunately, there is a very simple and useful cleaning hack that can be used with blenders. Since blenders are designed to hold and blend liquids and foods, why not soap and water as well? After blending and emptying the contents, fill the blender halfway with warm water and a couple of drops of dishwashing detergent. Close the lid, turn on the blender, and watch the blender clean itself.

Some high-end blenders have a self-clean program and will clean automatically, but if not, wait 10 seconds, turn it off, empty the dirty water, and rinse the container. You now have a shiny clean blender! Remember to remove the lid when drying.

If your blender has a plastic jug or cup, it may become cloudy over time. This is a residue left behind by hard water or mineral-rich foods and is difficult to remove. However, there is a very simple way to remove this film and make your goblet look like new again.

Simply add 1 cup white distilled vinegar and fill the jug halfway with warm water. Soak for about 8 hours, ideally overnight. Then empty the jug and rinse and scrub. It couldn't be easier.
