The rumored Apple Watch 7 will be the first significant redesign since the Apple Watch 4, according to unofficial updates.

This rumor seems to confirm earlier reports that the Apple Watch 7 will come in new 41mm and 45mm larger size variants; the Apple Watch 6 had 40mm and 44mm models.

But what about existing Apple Watch straps and accessories?

From the sound of things, not a huge amount: a purported new leaked image posted by Twitter user Majin Buu seems to show off the Apple Watch 7 strap, but the connection mechanism does not seem to change at all.

Majin Buu has only shown what appears to be a 41mm Solo Loop for the Apple Watch 7, but they claim that a 45mm model will also be available; aside from a very crude close-up shot posted by Twitter user DunaRui, we We don't have much evidence to prove it:

The Apple Watch 7 is also said to come with a new flat design, and there are rumors suggesting that we might be able to see a flat display as well as flattened edges on each of the watch's four sides. Thankfully, these changes affect the actual watch itself and should have no bearing on the actual band connection.

And these rumors claim that the bands on the Apple Watch 7 are the same as previous models. In other words, the bands used on older Apple Watches should work on the newer models, even if Apple and accessory manufacturers tempt us with new options.

However, it goes without saying that it is unlikely that a 40mm Apple Watch 6 band will work on a 45mm Apple Watch 7. In other words, if you are upgrading to a different size Apple Watch this year, you will have to accept the fact that your old strap will not fit. But that has been the case for years and should not come as a shock to anyone.

Aside from the tweaked design, a new, faster S7 chip is expected, along with improved fitness features such as swim tracking.
