Matrix 4 is officially called Matrix: There is a revival and debut video

The long-awaited "Matrix 4" finally has an official title: it will be titled "The Matrix: Matrix: Resurrections," and Neo and Trinity will return.

The next Matrix film is scheduled for release on December 22, but we don't know much about it except that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return, but not Morpheus, played by Laurence Fishburne. But at CinemaCon 2021, the official trailer shed a lot of light on what to expect from "The Matrix": according to

our colleagues at CinemaBlend, this trailer (not yet available online) shows Neo sitting in a therapist's office consists of a scene in which he is trying to explain that he is having a dream that feels more real than it should. Apparently, Neo, who goes by his original name, "Thomas," is recalling his path to becoming "The One" in the "Matrix" trilogy, saving humanity from destruction, and finally (spoiler alert) dying.

With long, John Wick-style hair, Reeve's Neo also meets Trinity, the Moth who died at the end of The Matrix Revolutions. Though they don't recognize each other, Neo, feeling a sense of familiarity, dumps a bottle of blue pills down the drain.

Things escalate from there, and a new Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, appears and offers Neo/Thomas the red pill. He then meets a blue-haired figure and together they walk in the mirror. The film then features a number of classic Matrix scenes, from slow-motion action and martial arts fights to shots of a field of "real world" people plugged into the Matrix.

In short, the plot seems to be about Neo's return, his regaining his memories and effectively resurrecting his character. This would require an enormous amount of action and a philosophical discussion of what reality is, what freedom is, and what it means to be human.

How much "The Matrix" will move forward: I don't know how much "Matrix: Resurrection" will advance the overall story of the "Matrix" series. However, if stylish action with a John Wick-esque Neo can liven up the holiday season, it's hard to keep our noses out of it. Hopefully, a trailer will be posted online soon so we can see the action for ourselves.
