Purple launches the new Purple plus mattress and it's a great win for comfier sleep

Purple has introduced Purple Plus, a foam-based model designed to provide a cooler sleep. The new Purple Plus is an upgrade in comfort over the brand's original model with the addition of a 2-inch premium foam layer that provides deluxe cushioning throughout the body.

The Purple Plus is available for purchase online through the brand's website starting today for $1,699 for the queen size (full price below), and given that Purple's original product is still one of the best mattresses available, this new Purple mattress is very exciting.

The foam model is supportive and contoured (good for those with aches and pains), but allows you to sleep warm. The new premium foam used in the Purple Plus is designed to be more breathable than the brand's standard foam. The goal: to sleep cooler and not be "woken up too warm.

For more information on Purple Plus mattresses, including pricing, available sizes, designs, and features, see.

The Purple Plus is the fourth mattress for teenagers and adults, but the fifth overall if you include kids' mattresses. The Plus falls between the entry-level Purple (starting at $599, see Purple Mattress Review for more details) and the Purple Hybrid (starting at $1,499). The Purple Hybrid Premier (from $2,099) remains the most expensive.

The Purple Plus mattresses are priced. Incredibly, it is already included in the latest Purple Mattress Deals, with up to $100 off. Without offers, the full price and list of available sizes is as follows: [The hybrid model is a bit skimpy on motion isolation when compared to the best memory foam mattresses.

The new Purple mattress offers upgraded sleeping comfort and cooling performance compared to the original Mattress in a Box. The Plus is made as follows:

What makes the Purple Plus stand out from the original is the additional 2" layer of premium foam placed directly under the Gelflex grid.

This new premium foam is designed to respond more quickly to body pressure and movement. Thus, when you turn over or take on new positions, the mattress should react more quickly to your body.

The same premium foam layer is more breathable than the standard foam in Purple. Along with the Gelflex grid's more than 1,400 ventilation channels and breathable Softflex cover, the Purple Plus mattress aims to increase breathability and help you sleep cooler.

1. designed to provide more dynamic support Those who don't like the squishy, gel-like feel of the original Purple may find the Purple Plus to be more supportive; an additional 2-inch premium foam layer, in conjunction with the Gelflex grid, provides improved cushioning and responds quickly to every movement. [On top of that, the pressure-free support provided by the purple Gelflex Grid ensures proper spinal alignment by providing firm support for the lumbar and shoulder pressure points. How this works in practice will be reported in the next Purple Plus review.

For a more affordable alternative, see our review of the Saatva Classic mattress.

2. Breathable foam allows you to sleep cooler. Memory foam is notorious for its tendency to trap heat, but the Purple Plus mattress attempts to remedy that problem with a 2-inch premium foam layer that is designed to be more breathable than standard foam.

The Gelflex grid's more than 1,400 vents, combined with the breathable Softflex cover, may help those with higher body temperatures.3. Affordable for a premium mattress. The Purple Plus mattress may cost $500 more than the original, but it is still one of the more affordable mattresses in its class. For example, the Purple Plus' MSRP is comparable to the comparable Nectar Premier memory foam mattress. However, it is more expensive than the Saatva Classic, which offers near-perfect support and comfort - read our Saatva Classic Mattress review to see why we rate the Saatva Classic Mattress so highly. Purple has traditionally been generous with its pre-Christmas sales, so we are very hopeful that the new Purple Plus will be marked down during the Black Friday mattress sale. As such, we are very much hoping that the mattresses will be reduced in price on Black Friday. We have not yet reviewed the Purple Plus, but would love to experience how Purple's new premium foam performs in terms of cooling, comfort, and support. For those who find the original model too basic but can't afford the hybrid model, the Plus would be an ideal middle ground. Like its sibling models, it has a 100-night trial period, so you can fully test it at home.
