Is the new Hapi pillow your ticket to a happier sleep?

Is the new Hapi pillow your ticket to a happier sleep?

We thought we'd seen every type of sleep pillow, but here comes the Hapi Pillow, with its awkward cloud-like looks and double height for added comfort. Health Active Products Inc, the manufacturer of the new Hapi Pillow, calls its unique patented 3D ergonomic design "a new way to sleep," and you'll probably do a double-take.

As we explain in our Best Pillows Guide, a well-supported neck, head, and spine in bed will make you less likely to suffer from pain; the Hapi Pillow aims to provide that vital support and comfort, but it is, how does it work, and how much does it cost?

The Hapi Pillow is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter starting at $79 (starting at about £75 for UK customers), and will begin shipping worldwide this December. It uses cooling memory foam (used in top-of-the-line mattresses and memory foam mattresses) to help align the body and prevent back pain and neck fatigue.

The dual-height profile is also interesting. Because of this, the Hapi pillow can be more easily adjusted to fit different sleeping styles (back, stomach, side or combo) and levels of physical support.

Memory foam pillows are a bit... Do you think that they are not a good idea? We hear you: they have a reputation for sleeping warm; the Hapi Pillow uses (CertiPUR-US) foam that is vented with holes for increased breathability. The cooling fabric also lends a hand, "forming a complete air circulation system, lowering heat and humidity and creating a comfortable microclimate during sleep."

"The Hapi Pillow is the first and only pillow with complex curves designed to fit the human body comfortably and can be easily adapted to different sleeping positions and heights," says Todd Nielsen, founder and CEO of Health Active Products. The typical pillow is "one size fits all" and does not care about body shape or sleeping position.

We haven't reviewed the Hapi Pillow yet, so we don't know if it can deliver on its promise; according to the Kickstarter campaign (which has already surpassed its goal), the pillow will ship this December. You can pre-order it for $79, 35% off with an early bird discount. Considering our favorite pillows are under $60, we have high hopes for this pillow.

Can't wait for the Happi Pillow? Then don't forget that with a Labor Day mattress sale and a Black Friday mattress deal on the horizon, we should start seeing some juicy discounts on a wide range of bedding soon.
