The release of "Venom 2" (also known as "Venom: The One Who Allowed the Killing") has been postponed. Yes, Sony Pictures has decided to push the film back to October. Venom 2 (aka "Venom: Let There Be Carnage") has been pushed back to October.

Most recently, a new trailer was released. The big battle is coming to Sony Pictures' Spider-Verse.

The new clip shows more of Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady and teases a big clash between his symbiote Carnage and Venom. There are also comedic hijinks between Bullock and Venom.

Venom Let There Be Carnage has been delayed from September 24, 2021, to October 15, 2021. This appears to be related to the spread of the delta variant and the increasing rate of Covid-19 infection.

"Venom 2" appears to be a theatrical release only, as no day 1 streaming deal has been signed at this time. This is just one chapter of Sony's Spider-Man films; the next chapter is "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which will be released on December 17, 2021. And "Morbius," starring Jared Leto, will be released on January 21, 2022.

Because it is rumored to deal with multiple universes, "No Way Home" could have a significant impact on other films in this microcosm.

The latest trailer confirms what we all expected. Venom and Carnage are pitting their symbiotes against each other in a grudge match. However, Venom's voice continues to steal the show with his comedic delivery.

The trailer for Venom 2 begins with a hilarious scene in Brock's apartment. Venom's symbiotic arm, extending from Eddie's back, is making Eddie breakfast. Venom even sings a song.

Then we cut to the jail cell, where we see Cassady writing fan mail to Brock. He seems quite malicious, as if he is angry at being corrupted.

Unfortunately, we don't see Spider-Man or any other big-name Marvel character, as Tom Holland can't seem to get out of the never-ending rumor mill about "Spider-Man: No Way Home". Maybe Doctor Strange will let him go.

In "Venom 2," the main characters from "Venom" are back. It begins, of course, with Tom Hardy reprising his role as Eddie Brock, the journalist who becomes Venom after being possessed by the alien symbiote. Michelle Williams also returns as Anne Weying (Eddie's former fiancée and district attorney).

"Venom 2" will also see the return of Woody Harrelson, seen at the end of "Venom". He will play Cletus Kasady, who inhabits a second alien symbiote known as the Carnage.

Reed Scott returns as Dr. Dan Lewis, Weing's boyfriend.

"Venom 2" will feature Naomie Harris as Shriek, Kasady's love interest. Shriek appeared as a villain in the comics and teamed up with Carnage in the Maximum Carnage storyline. In the comics, Shriek's abilities are easily guessed from her name. She can also fly.
