TikTok is offering more and more cleaning hacks, and one of its latest viral videos shows how to clean an oven overnight. Oven cleaning has always been a horrible chore that involves a lot of chemicals and elbow grease. I had to smile when I discovered that the method is very, very similar to the one we are recommending.

Basically, all you need is baking soda, dish detergent, water, and white vinegar. Mix the first three together to make a paste, apply it to the glass doors and interior, let it sit overnight, spray it with vinegar, and remove it in the morning. Our method is almost identical, except for the dish detergent, and works just as well.

In fact, our oven cleaning instructions also include step-by-step instructions for cleaning the racks with dishwasher detergent. Place the rack in the sink or bathtub and fill it with hot water. Next, pre-dissolve a cup of dishwasher detergent in water and add it to the water. Then let it sit for 8 hours or overnight. Any residue can then be easily scrubbed away.
