Movie | 2 hours, 12 minutes (R) | How to Watch "Suicide Squad" The 2016 film "Suicide Squad" was a box office success, but has since been heavily criticized for failing to deliver on its premise promise of a supervillain team-up.DC and Warner Bros. obviously did not want to let this IP languish, so they produced this quasi-sequel, quasi-reboot film. They asked "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn to give the film an extreme makeover, and he did. Suicide Squad 2021 has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike for its chaotic energy, grotesque violence, and satirical irreverence. Moreover, the general consensus is that it is "funny," which is not a label that is applied to most DC films. Also enjoy the post-credits scene in Suicide Squad.

Series Premiere | Episodes 1-2 (TV-MA)| Watch Now Joseph Gordon-Levitt has previously said that the drama, which he produced, wrote, directed, and stars in, is about what his life might have been like had it taken a different turn. Like the main character, Josh Korman, he might have become a fifth-grade teacher in Van Nuys. He might have had a boring day job and gone home to tinker with music in his bedroom. Gordon-Levitt wears many hats backstage, but this is not a one-man show, and the cast includes such talented actors as Debra Winger, Juno Temple, Arturo Castro, Jamie Chang, and Hugo Weaving.

Series Premiere | Episodes 1-6 (TV-MA)| Watch Now Finally, Paris Hilton can say "it's hot" and mean it literally. Hilton starred in a viral video last year in which she makes lasagna. The Netflix series is just the latest in a series of "celebrity learn how to cook" reality shows (Selena Gomez and Amy Schumer are just two examples). Hilton enlists famous friends like Kim Kardashian West and Demi Lovato for her misadventures in the kitchen. She really gets to be the clueless one ("What's a whisk?" she asks Nikki Glazer). She reminds us that Hilton has great comedic timing. Cool.

Season 2 Premiere | Episodes 1-6 (TV-14) | Watch Now New Season, New Suspicious Car Accident "Departure" returns to the Peacock with a completely different case for the Transportation Security Administration to solve. Investigator Kendra Marie (Archie Panjabi) is assigned to investigate the derailment of an experimental high-speed train in a rural Michigan town. The nearby small town is reeling in shock and the world is looking for answers. Marie's investigation reveals a puzzle of disparate events and suspects with plausible motives.

Movie | 1 hr 48 min (R) | Watch Now Val Kilmer was clearly a talented actor. He was also an intense, capricious, and mercurial man, a truly tormented artist. The documentary follows Kilmer's life and career, with footage shot by Kilmer himself and his brother. Interspersed with clips of the young actor in films like "Top Gun" and interviews with an aging Kilmer, who has throat cancer, speaking through a voice box, the film is moving. Don't expect a scathing description of the abusive behavior Kilmer allegedly displayed on the set. This is a thoroughly nostalgic document, a sentimental trip down memory lane for Kilmer.

Limited Series|Episodes 1-3 (TV-14)|Watch Now Produced to coincide with former President Barack Obama's 60th birthday, this docu-series traces Obama's childhood, education, and political rise to the Oval Office. The first thing to know is that Obama was not interviewed by filmmakers Peter Kundhardt and Jelani Cobb. Instead, the three episodes weave together old footage and other talking heads to examine the forces that helped Obama rise to power, his role as an iconic black American, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Movie | 1 hr 39 min (PG) | Watch now Lin-Manuel Miranda's summer continues. In the Heights, an adaptation of his musical, hit screens and HBO Max in June. And now Vivo, an animated film for families. Miranda wrote eight original songs for the film, blending his Broadway rap style with Cuban sounds. The main character, Kinkajou (Miranda), is a talented musician who busks on the streets of Havana with his owner Andres (Juan de Marcos). After a tragedy, Vivo travels to Florida to deliver a love song to the famous singer Marta Sandoval (Gloria Estefan). Along the way, he makes an unlikely friend and is sadly united with Andres' grandson Gabi (Inaylali Simo).
