Disney has decided to air "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" Season 2. Yes, the latest Star Wars series, "The Bad Batch," is not so "bad" a series that it won't return to offer more adventures in a galaxy far, far away on Disney Plus.

The series follows the Clone Wars, the modified clones code-named "The Bad Batch," and the conversion of the Old Republic into the Galactic Empire led by Palpatine. But even for the team that survived the Clone Wars (mostly) unscathed, it is a dangerous galaxy. And so begins the second season.

Disney has confirmed that the second season of "Bad Batch" will debut sometime in 2022, but has not revealed the exact date. Our guess is that the new season may follow the example set by the first season of "Bad Batch" and debut on May 4.

May 4, 2022 is also a Wednesday, which couldn't be better timed since it is the release date of Disney's new favorite thanks to the success of "Loki."

However, the fact that several other Star Wars series are in the works might spoil that speculation, as we know that The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to debut before the end of the year. However, Season 3 of The Mandalorian is scheduled to appear in early 2022, and should be considered alongside Obi Wan Kenobi and Andor's solo series (both due within the next year).

May 4 is a special date, and it is no surprise that Disney would set this date aside for these series. After all, The Mandalorian is a Disney Plus original and has quickly grown into a fan favorite series.

Similarly, Star Wars fans have been clamoring for an Obi-Wan spinoff for years.

Furthermore, "Obi-Wan" is already filming and is expected to appear on Disney Plus at some point in early 2022. How early, however, has not yet been announced.

When Disney announced the second season of Bad Batch, they released a very short teaser. However, that teaser did not include any footage of the show, but rather the "Bad Batch" logo burning out (as it does in every episode) and revealing that the show would return in 2022.

With the two-part season finale still to come, it is not surprising that Disney would not release anything that would spoil the ending. However, don't expect a proper trailer for a while, as actual footage from Season 2 may not have been released yet.

One thing is for sure, there would be no Bad Batch without Clone Force 99, voiced by Star Wars Animation veteran Dee Bradley Baker. Baker will also once again be the "generic clone voice" for the other clones in Season 2, whether they are named or not.

Unless something untoward happens in the finale, Michal Ann is also expected to return to voice Omega. Likewise, Rhea Perlam could return as Sid, the crime boss who hires the troops to carry out various missions.

With the film taking place between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope," other animated characters could also return. These include Freddie Prinze Jr. as Caleb Dune/Cananan Jarrus and Vanessa Marshall as Hera Sindulla, both of whom appeared in the first season of The Bad Batch. Ashley Eckstein may also appear as Ahsoka Tano and Andrew Xino or Forest Whitaker as Saw Guerrera.

Furthermore, given Bad Batch's habit of committing criminal acts for Sid, it would not be too surprising to see Jim Cummings (voice actor for "Winnie the Pooh") return as pirate captain Hondo Aunaka.

It's hard to guess what the second season of Bad Batch will be like, given that we haven't seen the finale yet. Of course, I will update this article once I see the final episode.

In the final episode, however, Hunter is captured by the Empire and restrained by former squad member Crosshair, a former squad member sharpshooter who was readjusted by the Empire in the first episode.

As Star Wars is Star Wars, the finale will end with Crosshair having his restraint chip removed and being free to return to the squad's adventures. But make no mistake, the Empire will still come after them, and with no help from the Rebels, the squad will have to be extremely careful.
