Watching "South Park" movies on Paramount Plus? Parent company ViacomCBS hopes so, as news broke that it will release 14 South Park movies on Paramount Plus over the next seven years.

As you can do the math, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are producing two South Park movies a year, approaching the MCU's initial level of production. Moreover, it seems likely that they will be full movies, not one-hour TV specials as was seen during Pandemic. We also learned a little more about the first of these films.

Paramount Plus will be the exclusive distributor of the movies, meaning that South Park fans will have to subscribe to two streaming services, as the series' back catalog is on HBO Max. Confusing, right?

A source told The Hollywood Reporter that, at least in the eyes of creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the first movie will be one big story, told in two parts. Is this the South Park "Avengers. Infinity Wars" and "Avengers: Endgame"? Only time will tell.

These films seem to be what Parker and Stone created during the pandemic. Yes, we saw the "South Park Pandemic" special and the "South Park Vaccine" special, but there seems to be little more than two hours of output from this prolific series. Taylor Swift's two new albums and a remake of an old one are a good indication.

In a statement, Parker and Stone jokingly said, "Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we are so glad they have made a commitment to us for the next 75." The contract will continue for six more seasons and run through Season 30 in 2027. Parker and Stone also reportedly plan to produce a new 3D video game and documentary series.

"I can't wait to get back to the traditional 'South Park' episodes, but I'm ready to try new formats," said Parker. It's great to have a partner who is always willing to take a chance."

This will bring many fans to Paramount Plus, even if they never thought they needed it before. As I wrote earlier this year, "You may not need Paramount Plus now, but you soon will."

The same was true when Peacock bought the WWE Network. South Park fans are now in for a similar shock." Another streaming service!" I think.

"Quiet Place Part II" landed on Paramount Plus less than two months after its theatrical release, and "Mission: Mission: Impossible 7" will do the same.

Paramount Plus also offers a live stream of the NFL for premium members, available on local CBS channels.
