Team USA vs Australia women's soccer live stream:Bronze medal match channel, start time and how to watch

The live stream of Team USA vs. Australia is the end of the line for the Megan Rapinoe-led team. Yes, the match against Canada was supposed to be just a step toward the gold medal, but it wasn't meant to be. And it ended in heartbreaking fashion.

Team USA lost 1-0 to Canada in the semifinals and looked to have played a good match overall. However, as is often the case in sports, one momentary lapse proved fatal: in the 72nd minute, the U.S.'s Tierna Davidson was caught out by Canada's Diane Rose.

After one VAR review, referee Katerina Monzur set up a penalty kick. The ball was released by Canada's Jesse Fleming and flew to the right side of the net, but did not reach goalkeeper Adriana Franchi.

Franch was in the match after Team USA lost Alyssa Neher to a knee injury in the 30th minute; in the 22nd minute she leaped to defend the service, then landed awkwardly and remained down for several minutes. She stayed in the match for another eight minutes, but had to be replaced by Adriana Franch (for the seventh time in USWNT history).

The fiercely contested bronze medal battle will begin today at 4:00 a.m. ET. We're ready. Here's everything you need to watch the live stream of Team USA vs. Australia:

The Olympics are a global event and can be seen in almost every country on the planet. However, if you are not in your home country and cannot watch the Team USA vs. Team Australia live stream on your usual service, or if you prefer to watch in your native language, you are not out of luck.

A virtual private network, or VPN, allows you to access the same streaming services you've already paid for by pretending you're surfing the web from your hometown (or anywhere else not hit by power outages.) VPNs are completely completely legal, inexpensive, and easy to use.

I'm not sure which VPN is right for me. After testing a variety of services, the best VPN overall is ExpressVPN. It offers great speed and excellent customer service. However, there are other VPN options out there.

The VPN is incredibly easy to use.

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we have mentioned, ExpressVPN is our favorite.

2. select the location you want to connect to with the VPN app. For example, if you are in the US and want to see UK services, select UK from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Go to your favorite website or streaming service and tune in.

There are two ways to watch Team USA vs. Australia. However, only one broadcast time is shown, as the game will take place today (August 5) at 4:00 a.m. ET. This is a live broadcast and there is no mention of a replay.

We presume that replays will be broadcast on Peacock, which airs most of the Olympics for free, with the exception of the men's basketball game.

You can watch the games live on NBCOlympics.com if you have cable or a streaming login. Nevertheless, US Soccer notes that the match will be broadcast live on both USA and Telemundo (not on NBC's site).

If you cut cable, you can watch USA with the Sling TV Blue package; with the Sports Extra package (an additional $11/month), you can watch the Olympic channels. Sling is our recommendation for Olympic viewing. Sling is one of the best streaming services, along with the other services we recommend for watching the Olympics: Fubo TV has over 100 channels (more than Sling), including all of the above networks, including Telemundo and NBCSN.

The match will definitely be available on Discovery+, a new service that has the rights to complete coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. This includes a live stream of Team USA vs. Australia. This year, all sports and all events will be available on Discovery+ or the Eurosport channel, whereas the BBC is limited to no more than two live events at a time.

Discovery is currently offering a three-day free trial of the service, after which a full subscription is available for £6.99 per month or £29.99 per year. Additionally, the service can be streamed via many devices including Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, and apps for iOS and Android.

Americans abroad can log in via a VPN, such as ExpressVPN, to use their favorite service.

Sportsnet (either Sportsnet or SN1), TSN1, TSN3, and TSN3 may have live coverage as the Olympic blocks are open during this time.

Sportsnet does not call soccer in its late-night and on-air lineups.

TLN will air this game on tape delay Monday at 4:00 PM.

Again, Americans visiting friends in the North can use Peacock by logging in via a VPN such as ExpressVPN.

Down under, Aussies can watch Team USA vs. Australia for free on the network's 7Plus streaming service. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. (AEST).

I am currently out of the country. Please use ExpressVPN to access paid services.
