Farewell, FandangoNow; this digital entertainment retailer will be integrated into Vudu, becoming the official movie and TV store for the Roku platform.

Both FandangoNow (a spinoff of the online ticketing site) and Vudu offer a library of movies and TV rentals and purchases; Vudu also has free, ad-supported content; in April 2020, NBC Universal will majority own Fandango Dango acquired Vudu from Wal-Mart.

The retailer's services are now integrated under the Vudu name. And the new, more robust Vudu will continue to support Roku's online movie and TV store as well as Wal-Mart.

The official announcement release states that the new Vudu will offer "more than 200,000 new and catalog movies and TV shows to rent or buy, including the largest collection of 4K UHD titles and thousands more available for free.

The statement also touts top new releases like "F9," "The Quiet Place Part II," Pixar's "Lucas," and Marvel's "Black Widow," which arrives next week.

The announcement did not mention the new Vudu rates, but users are unlikely to see any major changes. Rental rates for both services are typically $5.99 for HD and $4.99 for SD, but can go as high as $19.999 for first-run movies and movies playing in theaters. There are also some great discounts that lower the rental price by up to $0.99. Vudu also has free ad-supported movies and TV shows.

Starting today, FandangoNow customers can transfer their accounts and all rentals and purchases to Vudu; Vudu customers will have uninterrupted access to rentals and purchases and can use their Walmart login and wallet on the service .

Roku's Movie Store and TV Store will automatically update to the new Vudu from FandangoNOW.

The Vudu app is available on most major devices, including Samsung, LG, and Vizio smart TVs, the Roku platform, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex, PlayStation, Xbox, and Tivo Available on.
