The launch of the MacBook Pro2021 looks closer, as 2 new models will appear on the application form

The possibility of the MacBook Pro 2021 being announced in the fall seems more likely than ever, as documents filed with the Eurasian Economic Commission reveal new 14-inch and 16-inch models.

First spotted by French publisher Consomac, Apple submitted regulatory documents for two devices with model numbers A2442 and A2485, which are listed as running macOS, so it is safe to assume these are MacBooks. However, unlike the other devices in the submission, these model numbers do not match any existing Mac machines, so it is possible that these are the much-rumored MacBook Pro makeover, which is scheduled for release this fall.

While this list does not provide any new information on specs, it does provide further evidence that Apple will likely reveal a new MacBook Pro laptop by the end of the year. Such a reveal is rumored to take place after the iPhone 13 launch, which is reportedly set for a September showcase.

This news follows recent claims by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who speculates that the MacBook Pro 2021 will appear "within a few months." [Just two weeks ago, Gurman also said that a MacBook Pro with the M1X could appear between September and November. This period coincides with Apple's annual fall event, when much hardware is usually announced.

One thing to expect from the new MacBook Pro is that it will be properly redesigned. According to previous rumors, the next-generation MacBook Pro will feature a Mini-LED display like the iPad Pro 2021, which may offer improved brightness, contrast, and color over the current LCD Retina display.

Apple analyst and oracle Ming-Chi Kuo also claims that "the new model will cancel the curved design of the top and bottom parts of existing models and adopt a flat-edge form factor design like the iPhone 12." The new MacBook Pro could also bring back an SD card reader, an HDMI port, and a MagSafe charger.

Under the hood, an upgraded Apple M1 chip is expected, potentially called the M1X.

We will have to wait a few more months to see if these rumors come to fruition. But as 2021 draws to a close, it could be the start of an interesting new chapter for Apple's MacBook Pro.
