How to watch beach volleyball at the Tokyo Olympics: Schedule, channels, etc.

The Tokyo Olympic beach volleyball season has arrived. Beach volleyball, the quintessential summer sport, will be on stage again tonight. And competing for medals are Alix Kleinemann and April Ross of the US team.

Unfortunately, in the men's competition, Jake Gibb and Tri Born bounced back against Germany. Shortly after the loss, Gibb, 45, announced his retirement.

However, Klineman and Ross are still chasing. So far, the pair has dropped only one set in their four matches in Tokyo. With Gibb/Bourne eliminated and Kelly Kreis/Sarah Sponsill losing to Canada, they are Team USA's only chance to medal in beach volleyball.

Ross is looking for her first gold medal after winning bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics and silver at the 2012 London Olympics. Klineman is looking for his first Olympic medal.

Here's everything you need to know about watching beach volleyball at the Tokyo Olympics, including the schedule of medal-winning events.

The Olympics are a global event and can be seen in almost every country on earth. However, if you are not in your home country and cannot watch the Tokyo Olympics beach volleyball games through the services you normally use, or if you prefer to watch in your native language, you are not out of luck.

A virtual private network, or VPN, allows you to access the same streaming services you're already paying for by pretending you're surfing the web from your hometown (or anywhere else not hit by power outages.) VPNs are completely legal, inexpensive, and easy to use.

Not sure which VPN is right for you? After testing a variety of services, the best VPN overall is ExpressVPN. It offers great speed and excellent customer service. However, there are other VPN options out there.

The VPN is incredibly easy to use.

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we have mentioned, ExpressVPN is our favorite.

2. select the location you want to connect to with the VPN app. For example, if you are in the US and want to see UK services, select UK from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Go to your favorite website or streaming service and tune in.

You may have to stay up late (or get up early) and log onto your cable TV to watch live beach volleyball at the Tokyo Olympics.

Coverage on Peacock may include live streaming of beach volleyball and nightly highlights.

Primetime beach volleyball coverage of the Tokyo Olympics will be on NBC, NBCSN, USA, and CNBC.

All three of these networks are included in the $35/month Sling TV Blue package. The Olympic Channel is also available as an add-on for $11/month.

Sling is one of the best streaming services alongside our other recommendation for Olympic viewing: Fubo TV has over 100 channels (more than Sling), including all the networks mentioned above.

To watch all the beach volleyball matches live in the UK, we recommend subscribing to Discovery Plus, which provides complete coverage of Tokyo 2020.

Discovery is currently offering a free three-day trial of this service, after which a full subscription is available for £6.99 per month or £29.99 per year. Additionally, the service is streamable on a number of devices, including Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, and apps for iOS and Android.

BBC iPlayer used to be the primary source for all Olympic coverage for people in the UK, but things have changed.

The BBC no longer has a monopoly on Olympic coverage in the UK, as the IOC has sold its major European broadcast rights to the Discovery Network. As a result, the BBC's coverage, while still good, is limited to no more than two live broadcasts at a time.

Americans abroad can use any service of their choice by logging in via a VPN such as ExpressVPN.

Sportsnet, CBC, and TSN share Olympic coverage, so Canadians can watch live and tape-delayed coverage of beach volleyball competitions on these channels.

Again, Americans can use Peacock, Sling, Fubo, and other services by logging in via a VPN such as ExpressVPN.

Downunder, Aussies can watch the Tokyo Olympics beach volleyball for free on the 7Plus network streaming service. Simply add 14 hours to the Eastern Standard Time times below to find the start time of the games in Western Australia Eastern Standard Time.

I am currently out of the country. Please use ExpressVPN to access paid services.
