Mercedes-Benz EQE is coming to the IAA Mobility Show — along with 3 other electric vehicles

Mercedes-Benz is furthering its shift to eventual electrification by promising a series of new EVs at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich. These include EQE.

We already know that the EQE, essentially an electric E-Class, is on the way. But we do not know much about this vehicle. So the IAA Mobility Show is Mercedes' chance to surprise us.

But the IAA Mobility Show is not just about the EQE. Mercedes is also planning to present a new concept car, the Mercedes EQB, which will also make its European debut at the IAA Mobility Show. Mercedes also promises "Mercedes-AMG's first battery-electric luxury saloon," a phrase Mercedes has used in the past to describe the EQS

, and the EQE will also be presented at the IAA.

Pricing is still unknown, but Mercedes has previously confirmed that the seven-passenger SUV will have a range of 297 miles, a 100kW fast charging speed, a "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist . A longer range version is also planned, but it is not known when it will be available.

Similarly, much is known about the EQS, due to arrive in Europe later this year, promising a 453-mile range, built-in HEPA filter, 200kW fast charging, and a 523hp dual-motor setup capable of 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

Mercedes also promises that the EQS is "the most aerodynamic production car in the world" and has an "intelligent" energy regeneration feature that regenerates the battery during deceleration. It also has three dash displays and all the basic driver assistance features one would expect in a luxury car.

There is still much we don't know about EQE. But as far as we know, the car can best be described as an electric version of the E-Class. In other words, it appears that there will be two models: a large saloon and an SUV version. However, Mercedes has not revealed much information about the car, and the IAA Mobility Show is likely to be incredibly informative.

Mercedes has also promised that the Mercedes-owned "smart" brand will have a show car at the IAA Mobility Show, "providing insight into the first vehicle of the new generation of all-electric models."

The IAA Mobility Show opens on September 7 and runs through September 12. All we can do is sit back and wait to see what Mercedes (and other automakers) have in store for us.
