GTA6 Probably the place suggested by Rock Star Game Manager on Instagram

Fans are once again speculating about the unconfirmed "GTA 6" following a strange Instagram Story post featuring a Vice City-like landscape. The post was shared by Rockstar Games manager and music supervisor Tony Mesones, who also tagged the official Rockstar Games Instagram account in the post.

This is precisely why the post may have led fans to believe that the next potential installment of the famous franchise is headed to Vice City, the familiar home of one of the most successful titles of all time, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Mesones captioned the post "Who said it was cold?" in pink letters, prompting further speculation.

The Instagram Story post has since disappeared, but it didn't take long for fans to bring the debate to Reddit. Some skeptical fans said the post was simply a rock star employee sharing a vacation snap, while others claimed there was something more.

"Poor Rockstar employee. When you go to Florida, crazy people try to draw conclusions," one user said in the discussion thread.

The timing and location of the post remains unknown, but hopeful fans speculate that the fragment was likely taken in Florida and that the pink text may be a reference to the famous "Vice City" pink neon logo found in the previous "GTA" game.

Some have speculated on a possible game title: "GTA 6 Vice City Remastered."

But even if this is a big convenient coincidence and Masones just innocently shared the photo without any hidden meaning, it is certainly curious why he tagged the studio's official Instagram account in the post in question. The same point was made by another Reddit user: "Exactly, but why the Rockstar Games account? If they're on vacation, why tag their employer? Unless, of course, they cover it."

However, several Instagram-savvy users also pointed out that Mesonnes did not tag Rockstar Games, but actually reposted an existing post from the studio's official Instagram account. This is due to the location of the Instagram handle and the overall look of the story post.

A Reddit user wrote, "It's not actually a 'tag' but something that shows up on Instagram when you share a post from an account... " he wrote.

Unfortunately, if this is indeed a repost, the original post is nowhere to be found. I also did a reverse image search, just to be sure.

Whether or not this speculation is true, it may be a long time before the studio finally announces a new film. This is due to rumors from a reliable industry source, Tom Henderson, who claims that "GTA 6" may not be released until 2025. Henderson also corroborates the rumor that Vice City is the setting and speculates that the game will feature multiple playable protagonists and an "evolving" map.

Another source also talks about the fact that the studio has no immediate plans to release "GTA 6" as its previous title, "GTA V," will be re-released on next-generation consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
