Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 3 at its Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11. And now they are taking a licking at the upcoming iPhone 13.

In a teaser video released on Samsung's YouTube page, a silhouette of what appears to be the iPhone 13 can be seen. Granted, Samsung has also featured silhouettes of other phones in the video, including the big, bulky Motorola DynaTAC 8000X from 1973 and a Palm PDA-like device from the mid-2000s.

The reason why Samsung seems to be subtly jabbing at the iPhone 13 is the camera arrangement of the silhouette shown: the lens is in the upper corner of the device, not straight down like on the Galaxy S21. Instead, the silhouette shows a square camera array with sensors mounted diagonally, which is rumored to be the new iPhone 13 design. In contrast, the iPhone 12 has two camera sensors positioned horizontally.

Current iPhone 13 dummy units, often sent out early to help third-party accessory manufacturers design cases, are believed to show a new model phone with a slanted camera setup. Similar dummy units were sent to Canadian tech YouTuber Dave Lee, aka Dave2D.

At this time, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to debut at Samsung's August 11 event and hit store shelves a short time thereafter, with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 also appearing at that event SamMobile reports that the phone will be priced at $1,599, $200 less than the Galaxy Z Fold 2's current price. Other reports indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be priced between 1.9 and 1.99 million won, or $1,660 to $1,750.

Korean website The Elec claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have an under-display camera, which is also reported by prominent leaker Ice Universe; IP-grade water and dust resistance may also be possible.

And with the cancellation of the Galaxy Note 21, the Z Fold 3 appears to be the successor to that mid-year flagship. T.M. Roh, Samsung's president and head of its mobile communications business, said on his blog that the company's next foldable device will offer S Pen support.
