New Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Video Tease Wear OS and more

An official-looking video of Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 interface has been released online. The video highlights the differences between the two models, which Samsung plans to unveil at its Galaxy Unpacked event next month.

The video, shared by SamMobile, claims to distinguish between the standard Galaxy Watch 4 and the enhanced Galaxy Watch 4 Classic experience. While Samsung itself has not confirmed that there will be more than one smartwatch, these new clips seem to confirm the existence of two models with two different interfaces.

Although it appears to be a follow-up to Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2, the Galaxy Watch 4 could be positioned as the company's wearable flagship device. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic looks like last year's Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, but is likely to be proposed as a higher-end option with sleeker aesthetic elements such as a rotating bezel.

Beyond the physical design, the main difference between the two smartwatch experiences appears to be the watch face options. The basic Galaxy Watch 4 boasts sporty, colorful animations and complications, while the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic's face is more neutral and traditional.

Nevertheless, both smartwatches should offer an extensive watch face creation suite, as Samsung promised when it unveiled the One UI Watch in June. [Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch device will be the first device to absorb Tizen, select fitness tracking features from Fitbit, and run unified software.

Quickly, we see Google Maps selected and opened from the cloud of app icons, similar to Apple's watchOS app menu The gap between Wear OS and watchOS may finally be closing.

The video seems to confirm a feature called body composition analysis, in addition to tools such as activity tracking, step counting, and sleep monitoring. It does not show how this feature works or what exactly it can read, but we are guessing what the Galaxy Watch 4's body composition analysis will look like.

We have previously heard rumors that this feature will be available on the new Galaxy Watch and have even seen Amazon listings that mention body composition analysis; the Galaxy Watch 4 has a bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) sensor that can read the percentage of body fat and muscle using weak electrical currents.

Official pricing and availability of the next Galaxy Watch lineup is not yet known, but it won't be long before more details are known. The smartwatch is expected to debut at the Samsung Unpacked keynote on August 11, along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
