Fourth Stimulus Check amount: Here's how much money you can get

A fourth stimulus package is not expected to be implemented, but if implemented, it would provide additional economic relief to eligible Americans.

No specific stimulus amounts have been proposed, as no legislation has been introduced in support of a fourth stimulus package. Currently, the most high-profile fiscal proposal in government is President Biden's $2.25 trillion infrastructure investment plan, also known as the "American Jobs Plan."

The American Jobs Plan does not include a fourth stimulus package. Instead, it is a long-term initiative to rescue, restore, and rebuild the economy in the years following the pandemic.

Shortly after Biden announced his proposal, the number of signatures calling for a $2,000 monthly stimulus check surpassed 2.5 million. The petition was started last year and continues to garner support.

At a May press conference, White House press secretary Jen Psaki, when asked about new direct payments, said, "We will see what members of Congress propose."

A group of legislators sent a letter urging that the stimulus check be included in the next bailout bill. The group specifically requested recurring payments. This means that eligible recipients will receive not only a fourth stimulus check, but also more stimulus checks.

"We urge you to include recurring direct payments linked to economic conditions and automatic unemployment insurance extensions in your long-term economic plan, Build Back Better," wrote the group, which includes Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders

The letter states.

In the letter, the group did not specify how much the periodic stimulus checks would amount to. For reference, the first stimulus check was for $1,200 and the second was for $600. The third stimulus check, which the IRS is still in the process of distributing, is worth up to $1,400 per person, although eligibility requirements are more narrow.

A previous stimulus check proposal had proposed monthly payments of $2,000 until the pandemic ended. Congressman Ilhan Omar tweeted in late January that she wanted the $2,000 monthly payment.

If this amount sounds familiar, it is because Vice President Kamala Harris expressed support for a $2,000 regular check during negotiations for the second stimulus package last summer.

Passing a regular check for the stimulus package will not be easy. The White House is already struggling to convince enough lawmakers about its $2.25 trillion infrastructure plan.

The general view is that a fourth stimulus package is unlikely to be implemented. Nevertheless, it is not too late to find out if you are still obligated to pay by check for previous stimulus packages. Use the Stimulus Check Calculator Guide to find out how much you may be eligible to receive if you have not yet received a check. There is no problem reconciling the amount in the calculator with the actual payment amount to ensure that the proper payment was made.
